Based on the loss of so many seniors and their showing in a scrimmage against Teague; I'm not as confident as these guys for Robinson's chances against Taylor.

This may be the year the Taylor finally beats RR in varsity football, but I hope not.

I agree It means nothing as far as wins and losses or even score, but its a good measure where your team is early on and a chance to work on the other stuff. Its a real good measure of how physical your team is and their mental attitude. But that 17 points is a lot farther away than the scrimmages a couple days ago. August 28th is getting closer. How did LG do against EC ?

We played well against EC but from what I heard EC scored more against us....our defense looks really good..our o line is young but hopefully our speed will make up for it until the line can get ur act together...our RB jk Dobbins did not play in the scrimmage I dnt expect him to play until the regular season

JK Dobbins would have scored at least 4 TD's, so about even scrimmage. LOL.

It was a scrimmage not a game and the rules were quite different as such. For example LG through a totaly catchable pass to our wr who was open in the endzone and the EC safety got a flagrant interference flag from the ref. when he climbed on his back before the ball got there to break up the play. Result no td in the scrimmage as the ball went back to the 30 rather than 1 yard line first and goal. Another time our defensive back intercepted a pass and was in the wide open field clearly would have scored but in the scrimmage the ref blew the play dead. There you have two probable tds if it were a game but it was a scrimmage so yeah EC "won" 4-0 in a SCRIMMAGE!

La Grange has had a couple of highly recruited kids receive D1 scholarships since we have been playing yall.

Any word on how they are doing in college?

Facts from an EC fan, our paper had a little different version and do not even go there that our sports reporter knows nothing. Just saying ,EC facts tend to be a little off if you know what I mean. Sounds like the Leps move the ball pretty well even without Dobbins and contained Dove from breaking any long runs, that sounds pretty good on both sides of the ball without Dobbins because he is a difference maker on both sides of the ball. EC definitely a team you have to beat in the playoffs and then its off and running, big school with a lot more kids to choose from.

I agree 100% , WOS had some serious athletes on the field last year. You will not ever find that many athletes on a LG team, LG just plays hard nose disciple football with good kids and solid coaching.

Obviously facts from an EC fan and the EC media are more accurate than what the country bumpkin reporter (does he have a TV show?) throws out there. I'm sure he took it upon himself to call the interference Pudlugger referred to a TD. Or maybe the one where the play was blown dead and all the LG fans were chanting "let him score, let him score!" and he kept running. LOL I'll give him his journalistic license at call it 4-1.

Dove and Harris carried about 4 times each. Big deal. With only one returning starter (sound familiar?) in the O line, I guess they took them out to avoid injury, but did let them have a little fun after the hard work they put in at practice in that 105 degree heat.

LG always seems to struggle in their first scrimmage of the season. IIRC in 2001 they got "beat" by Elgin and again the following week by Brookshire and then went on to the SC game. In 2009 they got "beat" by LH in the first scrimmage and went on to the semi finals ending 12-1. Same thing in 2013 going 13-1. In 2014 they were outplayed by EC yet went on to the Regional final and ended up 13-1. I am getting pretty much used to them by now and will withhold judgment until i see them play in a few real games. We open against Liberty Hill, a highly ranked D1 team and then in game 3 La Vernia also highly regarded in D1 so by mid September we will see how good they are and how much work they have to do before district play. Congratulations to El Campo a fine football team and well coached. Good luck in your season. I wish you great success.

OK - We haven't won a SC in football yet. So how does that work? We take away one of our TDs to make it 3-0? Or do you get to add one to make it 4-1.
