After traveling over 800 miles round trip last year before the playoffs began, and only having two home games, this season will be refreshing. How long has it been since we've had seven home games? I hope we get to add a whole lot of miles of travel after the regular season, though. It was worth every mile last season, over 1600 accumulated.

Man yall have a weak district. At least your non-district schedule is full of ranked teams and traditional powerhouses(minus PT) cuz you wont be seeing them in district. Well Bullard is 25 in one poll. Bullard doesn't ever have the talent to match up with the more athletic schools but I love the way they play ball....4 quarters every game, wide open, leaving everything they got on the field. I have a lot of respect for them boys.

How that work for us last year? Every year its about the schedule. Either our district sucks or our preseason sucks. We just play who is the next opponent.

I really also believe that except for one or two districts the entire state is watered down. Its going to stay that way because of the D1/D2 divide. Its just not the same anymore.

To say Gilmer is in a weak district is to disrespect those other schools. Practically every school in our district with the possible exception of Nevada Community has a fairly rich playoff history over the last decade or so.

Our weak district didn't matter as we ran through Tatum's district throughout the season.

Yes, you are right poisoned. We ran through all four teams from their district. Tatum in pre-district, Pleasant Grove, Gladewater, and Atlanta in the playoffs. I think our team was a little overconfident in our matchups with Tatum and Gladewater (:stirpot::D), and found themselves behind the eight ball before eeking out those wins. PG and Atlanta were definitely overmatched.

I didn't say our district wasn't weak. I said the districts state wide are watered down and will continue to stay that way. I also believe that IF the districts were to stay the same for, lets say, 10 years. By that I mean that 4a D1 and D2 stayed the same. In D2 I could name 5 teams and they would win 8 of the next 10 state championships. No different than Yoe. I think as long as things don't change they could win 6 or 7 in a row. It has become really watered down IMO

Carthage should be just as difficult. I look for Carthage, tatum, and dfield to be much better this season.
I will go at worst 8-2 but most likely 10-0 and lose in December.
