Brock, the "basketball only" school, went 2-1 and made the championship pool, How long have they had a football program?

What time do they start playing today and will there be a link to the scores?

Gilmer began playing Houston Worthing at 9 a.m. I'll try to find out the score from Twitter.

Matt Stepp just tweeted "Hou Worthing 27, Gilmer 14." That game is at the half.

Some prime examples of how 7 on 7 does not relate to football happening today.

Dramatic 40-39 win for Navasota. Apparently China Spring scored late and went for 2 and the win, but Navasota held.

True, but Navasota won and are the favorite to win state this year. Graham is pretty much a top 7 or 8 team year in and year out and won the past couple years I believe. Carthage won the consolation bracket in 2013 and then went on to win the championship that same year. I will agree that it's not the same, but it does give you a good idea about the skill positions and defensive backfield.

I do agree to an extent. Most of your teams that end up deep will probably end up having strong seasons. However, there are always some games where you say to yourself would that really happen on Friday night. Would Gilmer really lose to Worthing by double digit points in a real game? Cameron lost to McGregor in the 3rd or 4th round of the consolation bracket a few years ago. However, during the season Cameron won by more than 40 points. Just have to take it with a grain of salt.

Navasota will be the favorite to win back to back SC this year. Very solid

I'm not surprised Dickinson swept their first day. There are plenty of kids who should be attending La Marque on their team.

Navasota won the championship on a missed two point conversion. A sign of true dominance. Really?

Navasota's the real deal! Those HISD schools in their district might as well forfeit now.

That was the most impressive thing about the performance.....they did it w/o their best player

Lol. Where did you take that from my post. Didn't say anything about dominance. Just said you can correlate some of what you see from 7 on 7 to the football field on Friday night. Strange response to my post.

All due respect to TD but Eppler is the engine that makes the Navasota offense go. No difference in 7v7. If you said to me that I could take any player off the field for Navasota prior to a game vs my Eagles, I would pick the QB. Maybe TD is the best player in terms of sheer athleticism and next level talent but Eppler is the key to their success IMO. Argyle pounded him in the sc game (8 sacks and a ton of hard hits) and he was still throwing strikes in the 4th qtr and OT.

Giddings ended up winning 5 games in a row on the 2nd day, winning the consolation bracket and taking 3rd in the tourney. This, according to our paper.
