Great thing they did there. Good article towards the bottom of that as well: http://etsn.fm/is-jeff-traylor-the-best-east-texas-high-school-football-coach-ever/

He is definitely in that conversation as one of the best from East Texas. His success reminds me of what Coach York did with Cameron back in the 80s. Traylor was 175-26 at Gilmer (87.1%) in his 15 years at Gilmer. York was 76-11 (87.4%) in his 7 years at Cameron. Cameron now has another good one in Rhoades. Some big shoes to fill in Gilmer. It'll be interesting to see what type of success Turner has moving forward.

I'm pretty sure things won't change a lot at Gilmer. Matt has been here for 13 years as offensive coordinator. I'm pretty sure he will carry on the legacy and tradition as usual.

I would believe so as well. With him being there that long under Traylor the transition should be smooth.

Exactly why he was the top man for the job. The young men and women know him, love him, and know what to expect from him. Jeff had unbelievable organizational and motivational skills, though. I'll be interested to see how Matt handles that portion of the program. I think he will be just fine.

Jeff also worked under Coach Turner while they were at Jacksonville.
