I normally would link this like this caller.com article (http://www.caller.com/ccct/high_school_football/article/0,1641,CCCT_11856_2461432,00.html) , but it took me 10 minutes to open that caller.com webpage.

Sinton set for playoff rematch with Burnet
Pirates, Bulldogs will meet in state quarterfinals

When Bob Shipley and his staff arrived at Burnet High School in 2001, the coaches singled out several of the state's top teams to use as models for their program.
One of those was Sinton.

"They have a lot of good things going on in Sinton," Shipley said. "What we're trying to do is reach a level of consistency like they have over there. We've talked about teams like theirs and all the people making runs to state. We picked Sinton as a program to watch because we want to be at that level."
It didn't take the Bulldogs long to get there.
For the second straight year, Sinton and Burnet are poised to meet in the Class 3A Division I state quarterfinals Friday at Buc Stadium. The circumstances surrounding the matchup are quite different from last season, however.
The Bulldogs (12-0) have been ranked No. 1 in the state in 3A the entire season, while the Pirates struggled through a tough non-district schedule before making an undefeated run to the 30-3A title. When the teams met last season, Sinton (8-4) was the top-ranked team with Burnet right behind at No. 2.
"We have to play well and not make mistakes, that will give us a chance," Sinton coach Jimmie Mitchell said. "No one gives us a shot, but we still have to play the game."
With a team that hardly resembles last year's squad.
The Pirates were hit hard by graduation, losing 25 letterman. Players lacking in experience were used to fill the gaps and overcame a 1-4 start to win seven straight games.
"They've done a lot of maturing," Mitchell said. "We have had a lot of people step up and take a leadership role. There's the old cliche about getting better every week, but we did. You could see the improvement."
Though the Pirates have kept the ball more on the ground, sophomore Daniel Ramirez stepped in at quarterback and has passed for 756 yards and 12 touchdowns. He opened the playoffs with 213 yards and two scoring strikes in a 36-point victory over Carrizo Springs.
Junior Travis Franco has taken command of the running game, rushing for 1,554 yards and 13 touchdowns. P.J. Salone has chipped in 536 yards.
Regardless of the names, Shipley said the Pirates are a dangerous team, especially after last season's 19-7 loss to Burnet.
"It doesn't take long to figure out Sinton is Sinton," Shipley said. "They still have a lot of really good players that can make things happen. They moved up some quality kids and have a really tough outfit that's probably going to have revenge on the mind. We have to be ready to play."
The Bulldogs have been ready since losing to Everman in the state title game a year ago.
Texas A&M commit Stephen McGee returned to his spot under center and has passed for 3,088 yards and 42 touchdowns. His three interceptions all came last week in 70-37 thrashing of Wharton.
Like last season, McGee's main target has been Jordan Shipley, who has hauled in 77 catches for 1,621 yards and 27 touchdowns. The future Texas Longhorn holds the state's all-time, all-classes records for career receiving yards (5,126) and career touchdown receptions (70), and with 246 career receptions, needs only eight catches to set the state mark.
"Most of the skill people making plays for them are seniors, and that makes a difference," Mitchell said.
So does the sting of last year's loss to the Bulldogs.
"That's obviously going to be a motivating factor for the Pirates," Shipley said. "Our kids have done a good job of keeping everything in perspective. That's what we have to continue to do, because last year we were fortunate to get out of there with a win."

What's funny is that most of that article was about Burnet. :p
