Is their 2 or 3 individuals from each event or relay teams from every region that advance to state meet?

that 3:20.35 is really good..our Burnet boys best was a 3:22.04 at the district meet. They ran a 3:25.85 at regional which was good enough for 4th.....

I've been told it's only the top two finishers of each event advance...can someone confirm this?

Unless they changed since 2009, that is correct.

Unless they changed since 2009, that is correct. They did. The top 2 finishers from each region and the next best qualifier from all 4 regions advance (so top 2 x 4 regions plus 1 = 9 total qualifiers). Hope that makes sense...

Makes sense.

My oldest boy qualified for State his senior year in shot. Had been the previous two years in Discus. It was the year of the Swine Flu "Epidemic" and they moved the State Meet back a week. We had a family cruise scheduled that week for his graduation gift. He gave up his spot to the third place finisher from Llano. Made that kids day. They were throwing against Hayden Baillio so it was matter of who was going to finish 2-8 .

OK--found this, it has all the region track meet results. With a little digging you can find what you need. http://parser.dyestat.com/meetresults.jsp?meetID=82571#.VUfQb5P2pOY
Still not sure if the Wylie Boys made it in the 4 x 100 meter relay. This the results I found for the 3rd place finishers in each region: I--Wylie 42.57 (42.562), II--Chapel Hill 42.57 (1/1000's not given), III--Robinson 42.86, IV--LaMarque 42.85. So will it be Wylie or C'hill going to the big dance???

Gilmer Boys won the Region II meet and Argyle Boys got second. Pretty fair showing for Gilmer and Argyle against some of that "East Texas Speed" and those Dallas inner-city schools that have lots of speedy athletes. Maybe all that off-season training for football is showing its benefits in T&F.

Awesome slingshot! Saved me time. No Villians this year which is kinda puzzling on the girl who won back to back state titles in the 800 as a freshman and sophomore.. Bailey Chaivers. I did hear she suffered an injury in soccer that might have kept her for qualifying.

I love track. Looking at some of the times.. Pretty salty. Be on the lookout in about 3 years for 2 girls from Sville. One is a 7th grader and broke the Jr High school record in the 300M hurdles this year in a time of 49.56. Not far off from some the HS state qualifiers. Then an 8th grader who was a couple of seconds off of the Jr high school record in the 1600M run with a time around 5:53.

Awesome slingshot! Saved me time...Glad to be of service! I had been trying to find out if the Wylie boys made it in the sprint relay... they did as the fastest 3rd place finisher. Should be a great race--all the teams ran 42.xx. Close field. Will all be about the start and hand offs. We just got this final group together and they are capable of faster--had a pretty good bobble on one hand off at Regional. Kleffner made state in the 100 and 200 and anchors the sprint relay. Kid is pretty quick... ask Burnet--He's the one that put 300+ yards on them. Too bad he broke his collarbone early in the season.

We are not that fast...just quick & sneaky
