We knew we were beat last year...roles are reversed this year. Carthage wins number 5 this year. Book it.

Better look out for that 8/27 game against LE. As I recall, them Leopards didn't gradjiate much from last season's team. They ain't gonna be slouches, and they have athletic types w/speed at all the skill positions.

Gilmer never overlooks LE. LE almost always has as much or more raw athleticism on the field as the Buckeyes do.

I think this may be the year when this game is a relatively close one for the first time since our bi-district game in 2010 (43-33 Gilmer win).

No I did not say that last year. This year is big time payback. Remember had bad the Buckeyes beat the Dawgs last year, well the storm is coming. The buckeyes will be a great warm up for the playoffs.

Dogs out for revenge. Both teams will be sporting new starting QBs. I think I heard that the Buckeyes return 7 on Defense. Should be a good one.

the Dogs have got a lot to prove from last year. Your team didn't put up much of a fight against Gilmer or Henderson.
Yall do however have one of if not the best coach in east texas now that traylor went to texas university. I am sure y'all will be just fine.

There's only two games on the schedule that I worry about, and both have already been mentioned. It's hard to gauge at this point because of all the players lost. The very first game with Liberty-Eylau could set the tone, but it's where we are as a team against Carthage that will tell us how good we will be.

LE is gonna be tough this year. I'm glad to see them back on the map. They always have as much or more talent than anyone. That whole Texarkana area has produced a ton of athletes. I can remember the Dawgs playing them in the pre-Surratt era in Tyler in the 2nd round of the playoffs. They had a certain 2 players on that team that are still playing pro sports. They were fun to watch.

You must be referring to Will Middlebrooks (third baseman for the Boston Red Sox) and LaMichael James (a RB for the Miami Dolphins). I remember them well... All too well... LOL! They have always had lots of athletes, and most of the time better athletes than the teams they face. Coaching and discipline were what kept them from being consistent year in and year out. I think that is changing now with Coach Wells. Coach Wells' first game as a head coach there was against Gilmer, and that's not exactly how you want to start your new HC job. They stayed the course, though, and got better -- lots better as the season went along, and they have almost everybody back that took Argyle to the brink. If they ever cut out the mistakes, they will be an extremely tough out for anybody.

In the words of Jeff Traylor...they could not play any better & you could not have played any worse...keep on playing...and they did
