After knocking on the door the past 2 seasons but coming up short in 2nd place, the Argyle Boys Golf Team is bringing home the Gold this season. They won the 2 day meet by 7 shots with a total of 612. Fredericksburg wins the Silver this year in 4A with a 2-day total of 619. There was a tie for 3rd place between Llano and Texarkana Pleasant Grove at 633, but in the playoff Llano came out on top to take home the Bronze. Andrews was not far behind in 5th with a total of 635. I guess they can't expect to win it every year, lol. They've been the defending champions the past 2 years. Decatur came in 6th at 640. The rest of the schools competing in this year's State tournament were in order of finish: Gatesville and Monahans(tied), La Vernia, Robinson, Madisonville, and Canton. Medalist honors went to Cole Grona of Fredericksburg with a 70-77. Runner-up medalist was Clayton Myers of Llano(71-77), and Caden Wylie of Boerne took 3rd place medalist with a card of 72-77. It was Argyle's team depth that made the difference for the Eagles in outpacing the field at this year's tournament. Congratulations to all the teams and participants for qualifying to play in this year's state meet.
