Storm chasers spent a pretty good part of the day in my hometown of Comanche.

A stretch from Comanche to Rio Vista, there were a reported 12 tornados! Traveling back from Arlington took us 3.5 hrs. We waited for 1.5 hrs under a gas station awning due to reported hail and tornados south of I-20 on Hwy 281 near Sville. We were not going to chance it. Glad everyone is safe. A lot of downed trees and limbs from Friday's storm then with yesterday's craziness, there's no telling what it looks like now.

That's just Round 1. Round 2 will be the convergence of another storm.....this one in trucks by the trainload headed that direction from the Texas Fraternal Order of Home Improvement Imposters, hahaha. This state needs licensing requirements for its homeowners.....just sayin'. Need to git all the riff-raff out of the trades and give the hardworking taxpayers a better situation like most every other state enjoys. Licensing, bonding, and insurance requirements for all contractors would go a loooong way to cleaning up most of the riff-raffing types that have jumped into the storm damage repairs trades. Of course, your friendly and helpful insurance companies that have your best interest at heart are the gulity parties. They make sure every time the measure comes before the legislature in Austin that the bill gets squashed. They were also the ones that instituted first the 1% deductible and now the whatever percent deductible in Texas as a "test" market for the rest of the nation. Well.....the rest of the states protected their homeowners and still have $500 and $1000 deductibles......all while paying LESS annual premiums. Word to the wise....most insurance claims on storm damages are shorted by the adjusters nowadays.....by design. So it's very important to select a contractor that uses Exactimate in determining the value of your loss. The insurance company's assessment is NOT etched in stone....it's merely a representation of what their adjuster came up with(usually quite a bit short of what the Exactimate guidelines for your area would total). And if you have more than one trade being repaired(roof, gutters, windows, paintwork, garage door, fence, etc, etc, etc.), then the customer is entitled to an additional amount added to the claim total of 20% because the extensiveness of the damage requires more trades involved to complete the repairs. That means more time, more coordination, and thereby more money than just the estimated cost of the repairs individually. That's the law, but insurance companies tend to slide whenever they can and by whatever squeaky rules they can make up that sound good to the customer. Good luck out there in damage land, folks.

Xactly, haha. Yep, it's Xactimate, not exactimate....to be exact.
