Who is moving up to 4A to 5A?

Who is dropping from 5A to 4A?

Who is moving up from 3A to 4A?

There will be a ton of speculation on 4A D1 and D2, but first lets talk about who is on the move between classifications.

I heard Princeton is moving up to 5A.

Yes, but the snapshot and numbers will be captured this October.

Oh, I see what you are saying. There is a good chance Fairfield drops to 3a.

Just saw a post on another site saying Abilene Wylie will move up to 5A and Abilene will drop to 5A. Of course there is a rumor every alignment that AW is moving up.

Teague and Fairfield in the same District. The fun REALLY begins.

I never follow the rules as I consider them to be merely suggestions...we will move to Div 1 leaving a long swath of smoldering ruins in Div 2, joining Carthrage, Hennason, Kigore, & Chapel Hill...SWEET!

The big question is whether the UIL will keep the pre-determined divisional set up or go back to the old format for 4A.

How about the numbers for the cutoff? Staying the same or going up slightly?

The big question is whether the UIL will keep the pre-determined divisional set up or go back to the old format for 4A.

With pump prices low and likely to remain that way for the foreseeable future, I don't see a problem with the travel distances. UIL will only change back to the old setup if the superintendents demand it be changed. I'm not aware they're making such demands at this point.

Of course, if you lost your high-paying oil-related job, you can't even buy the cheap gasoline anymore. The Gilmer area was not involved in the recent oil boom, so the only people suffering here are the ones who commute to jobs in Gregg County. Some of them may already have been laid off.

I think Wylie is safe for another two years if the 4A number is around 1055. There enrollment was 1027 earlier this year. In 2017 the district is predicting enrollment of 1160. Current 6th grade class in well over 300, with the lower classes around 250.

Abilene High will probably be back in 5A as they were over the old cutoff by 7 I think.

I fully expect Wylie, Cooper and Abilene High to be in the same district 2018 unless the 4A number goes way up or the 6A number comes down.

With all the new home building on the south side and migration from central and north side to Wylie it will happen... just not this time. Biggest factor is that it looks like we will finally be getting apartment complexes built here (not a fan personally... ). Enrollment will then jump.

I thought the cut off number is ALWAYS Wylie+1.

I thought the cut off number is ALWAYS Wylie+1.

the old 5A (new 6A) cutoff use to be Highland Park + 1 and that didn't happen...

I thought the cut off number is ALWAYS Wylie+1.Actually there have been 5-10 schools bigger than Wylie in 3A (now 4A) the last 2 realignments...

Heard stories that with the next realignment, LH's growth may very well put us into the top end of 4a for one more 2 year stint or could easily put us into 5A.

I've heard the same about LH. You can't control the inevitable most times.
