Yea looking like crap 4-0 A ' s. Rangers have no hits through 5. Gallardo got yanked in the 4th inning.

7-0 A ' s, I sure hope this isn't going to continue all year.

Looking at the Rangers lineup and personnel, I wouldn't be putting too many high hopes on this season's team. They get one lousy hit against the A's in the opener tonite. Oakland teed off on the Rangers pitchers.....I think about 10 or 11 hits. Colby Lewis is on the mound tomorrow. We'll see if that changes things. Still, the Rangers hitters will need to provide some run support.

Rangers are off to a great start, if they are aiming for draft position.

Colby Lewis gives up 1 run on 3 hits in 6 innings and Neftali Feliz gets the save as the Rangers win 3-1 on 8 hits tonite to even the series 1-1. Lewis gets his first win of the season as does the Rangers. The ice has been broken.....a vast improvement over last night's game, lol.

ummm Johnny Oates was a damned good manager. took them to the post season 3 times. Ran into 3 all time great Yankee teams and really should have won one of those series if it wasnt for Darryl Strawberry. Maybe you are thinking of the Jerry Narron years...

I think they have a chance to contend if they can hang around .500 for about half the year. Perez is supposed to be back around the all star break and I think some of the young kids could be pretty good if the morale and confidence stay up.

I really think the Odor kid is going to be special. If Elvis and Fielder have a 'normal' year, they will be fine. The offense, on paper, looks decent enough. The question, as always, will be the pitching. I actually think the starting pitching looks okay. It's the pen that is the question mark. And we see every year that building a bullpen is a crap shoot.

I was shock to see they were winning and a shut out going with Colby on the mound when I got home last night. Hopefully he returns to form from a few years back.

Rangers are getting blasted again tonite by the A's 10-0. Adrian Beltre is 0-11 at the plate in 3 games.....just to give one example. Heck, even if they would have scored 5 or even 7 runs, it would not have been enough. Scott Kazmir struck out 10 Rangers batters for the A's tonite, giving up just 2 hits enroute to the win....and one was a bunt single. Tomorrow's final game of the series will begin at 2pm in Oakland. The Rangers home opener will be on Friday at 3pm.

That was a frustrating watch last night, but in all fairness, Kazmir was really dealing last night. The dude was hitting 94 and his changeup was damn good.

Totally agree. They didn't listen to Nolan and now you see the results. So Nolan said "Adios Amigos" and headed to greener pastures....in more ways than one, haha.

Being a Texan and a kid that grew up as a pitcher, I'm as big a Nolan fan as anyone.

However, I think this is a bit premature. I think Nolan brought the franchise some real gravitas that they sorely lacked. However, Nolan had nothing to do with acquiring talent like Elvis, feliz, Hamilton, Cruz, kinsler and many of the other very important role players that made that run what it was.

I'm not sure either would have done it without each other. The next year or two is clearly very important for JD. This is an organization that has had a reputation of good young talent for some time, but there's got to be some results.

3 errors and unable to get a hit when they had the bases loaded a couple times. Definitely an game for houston.

We sit at 2-3 and our only wins came when Keuchel and McHugh, the 1 and 2 pitchers, pitched.

I believe keuchel is pitching today. Hope he can get houston the series win

And let's not forget this team has lost its top 4 starters for significant time two years in a row.

Take a darvish, holland, Harrison and Perez out of a rotation and any GM will look shaky.

Considering that we lost our ace and two corner outfielders and only lost by an amazing catch I will take it.

Hamilton coming back...

Good he can't hurt. If he can come in and produce 20 Homers and 75 rbi he is well worth it not to mention it appears the Rangers are only gonna have to pay between 5-10 Million of his contract. I see him splitting time at DH and outfield to keep him healthy. I wish the Rangers could deal Choo some how and his inflated contract, but nobody wants that.

One other thing the Rangers need to get rid of Maganun. Since he has been the Rangers hitting coach they have blown at the plate the last two years.

Saggy Aggie
04-25-2015, 03:04 PM
I don't think Hamilton is going to come in and hit 25 hrs and get 75rbis.... If he were gonna do something like that, LA would've probably kept him lol

Josh (and his lawyers) seem to be indicating that his wife bears much of the blame for his recent decline. So, once he is done with the "Old Ball-and-Chain", he should either get much better or much worse. :1popcorn:
