This time of year is the annual bat migration through southeast Texas. Bats prefer to roost inside the walls of buildings that have a large face. Therefore, school gymnasiums are perfect places for the bats to sleep. Here at EBISD is no exception, last year we excluded a colony of bats in the junior high gym, and this year we have excluded them at the new gymnasium. Unfortunately, the "bat man" is on his way back to East Bernard to exclude the bats in the "old gym." Exclusion means that the "bat man" finds the area where they are getting into the walls (usually at the roof line) and puts up fine mesh wire, with a reverse funnel (fish trap philosophy), which allows the bats to exit, but does not allow them to return. Most of the time, people do not know they have a "bat problem" until they smell the guano around the roosting area. We are working to resolve this issue as quickly as we can.

Im very proud of EBISD. Looks like they learned from how some cats were handled in the passed! lol The leadership over there is just unbelievably outstanding. Scoop, you need to check that building right there in Hungerford that looks like an old gym. There is no telling what is that thing. Could be some chupacabras holed up in there.
