The top-ranked Bridgeport Bulls will meet the Dallas Madison Trojans out of Region 2. So it will be Region 1 vs Region 2 winners playing for a chance to go to the State Final game tomorrow night. Immediately following this game today will be the other Class 4A Semi featuring Region 3 Winner Houston Sterling against Region 4 Winner La Marque. Good luck to all these fine teams today. Thanks, regal--I think I am one of the few Bulls fans who didn't make it San Antonio--doggone business affairs, anyhow, but I will be following game stream as much as I can....Go Bulls!

Patterson and Smith for Bridgeport are just phenominal on offense, but the Madison 2-man trap defense will cause some trouble for the Bulls today....they are very good at it.

It will be interesting to see how Madison tries to adjust to the terrific shooting and passing of this Bulls attack. Right now Madison already has one starter in foul trouble. Bridgeport is 61% from the field so far and I would say from what I'm seeing that they definitely are outplaying Madison in all areas on the court.

Smith and Patterson as Mr Outside and Mr. Inside respectively are just too much to defend.

Looks to me like the scouts should be salivating over Patterson and Smith of Bridgeport. We'll see if they can continue to extend this Bulls dominance offensively in the 2nd half. The rest of the Bulls team plays their roles just as cleanly. Madison will need to hit a better percentage from the field in the 2nd half and do a better job off the boards.

Patterson scores 27 and was 10-10 from the line. He made 5 from beyond the arc and had a couple of slams as well. Smith also had 23 points also. What a 1-2 punch for the Bulls. Holdman played well too.

Madison in valiant 2nd half comeback effort, but came up short. They just didn't hit the baskets when they needed to, but certainly gave Bulls fans cause for concern.

Congrats to the Bridgeport Bulls as they advance to the State Final to play the winner of Sterling/La Marque upcoming next.

After viewing all 4 teams, I would have to say that Bridgeport already played its best competitor and is odds-on favorite to win the State Final tomorrow. So much for the odds though.....anything can happen in a one-game matchup for the Trophy. Sterling is certainly athletic enough and highly capable as their record shows. We could see a completely different Sterling team tomorrow, and a different Bridgeport team. But I would have to think that Sterling has the onus on them to "bring their A Game" tomorrow against these dynamite Bulls. Maybe Sterling can get them out of sinc and cause problems for the Bulls. Maybe the Bulls get into foul trouble early. Maybe it comes down to a few missed shots at the end. Good luck to both teams.....they each deserve to be here. GO BULLS!!!

Interesting story in the Dallas Morning News concerning Bridgeport. Makes you question what the UIL is coming to.

No different than Triple A or some of these other Prep school teams we have seen spring up around the state now playing in the UIL. Don't know what happen to the Flower Mound Rebels, but I reckon they feel they can get more exposure playing in a UIL-sanctioned league and all be able to start and play lots of minutes for a 4A school like Bridgeport. That's just my conclusions from knowing very little.

Dallas Madison has been stripped of their state titles the last two season for playing "ineligible" players. You can bet your boots some of these inner city schools in Houston and Dallas(maybe San Antonio and Austin as well) have been pushing the limits on the UIL rules concerning boundaries. Now Madison got a taste of their own medicine this year.

if Bridgeport was in Houston or Dallas ISD they'd probably be vilified even more for this...hell I didnt even know about it til today...did some research and made some calls...the 4 kids live together in a house built in Bridgeport, I believe they either live with Mark Cuban's brother in law or he had the house built for them...not sure....I'm guessing these kids come from broken homes or something because someone in that house has to be their legal guardian or I dont think they would have been granted eligibility..needless to say Bridgeport's imported team will almost certainly win state next year since they are all juniors....

I don't know what their enrollment is, but it can't be that big. There are other "preps" in the metroplex that have sprung up in recent years as well. I'm not sure if they are for offering inner city youth with a means to get a better quality education IF they show the necessary credentials, or if their parents pay for them to attend. OR, in the case of some star athletic types, those students are awarded a "free pass" to attend these "prep academies". A free pass from the school board, that is.

To be eligible, all they have to do is live within the boundaries of the school district by a certain date and have a legal guardian or parent residing at that address. That's my understanding of the current eligibility rules, anyways. If someone reading this could look up the rules and copy and paste them here or provide a link, that would enlighten us all. Obviously, I'd do it if it was easy for me to, haha.

This could be the new concept in high school sports. If you have someone willing in your community to put up the funds and buy a home that can house several young talented football players, basketball, baseball ...ect and pay a house parent to live there think what the possibilities could be.

So he was in AEP for no reason. It really doesn't bother me one bit. I had just told you guys what I had heard and yall denied everything then the truth comes out and yall are backtracking lol. I will say i mis the days of teams winning with home grown kids. And like I said before, I really enjoyed watching them play. Coach Green did a great job and I hope we meet up next year.
