HIT AND RUN CLASSIC
Three local baseball teams will take the field in the tournament hosted jointly by Sweeny and Columbia high schools, as Sweeny, Columbia and Danbury will all take to the diamond today through Saturday.
Tournament play kicks off at 10 a.m. today at Sweeny High School, when the host Bulldogs face an area select team, the Thunder.
Columbia and Danbury get their first taste of the action at 5:30 p.m. today when they square off against each other.
Sweeny returns to the field at 7:30 p.m. today to close out the day’s slate with a game against Bay City. Sealy and Waller will also be in on the action.
Friday’s set of games will be in Columbia, as the Roughnecks open the day’s docket at 10 a.m. against Sealy. Sweeny and Waller will face off at 12:30 p.m., followed by Danbury and Sealy at 3 p.m.
Columbia and Bay City wrap up play in Columbia with a 7:30 p.m. game Friday.
