OK so this is how I roll. Hunting from November to January as long as football permits. Fishing the rest of the time. So here is the TX Downlow fishing thread. So posts pics of fish, fishing, your boat, your kids jeking brim or anything to do with fishing. I know we have lots of fishermen and fisherwomen on the board.

Here's my contribution! I landed this 39.5 inch black drum in Freeport. Literally across the Brazos River from Exporter Statium. dead shrimp on 10 lb. braided line. This thing went on one hell of a run too. Took about 10 minutes to finally get it in.

Sweet......bass on a fly rod!!

It's a neat little fishin' hole with crystal clear water. You can see the fish swimming around. Unfortunately, the bigger bass are smarter and with such clear water, they can see you too!....but this place is not heavily fished so they are very aggressive.....

I know nearly all of the pictures here are of freshwater fish, but have any of y'all heard of TIFT down in Port Isabel?

TIFT = Texas International Fishing Tournament

It's BIG TIME fun, and who better to have as a local guide than me and some former Port Isabel Tarpon players who are now local fishing guides?

I'm still looking for some pictures I have of a trip I took to Buras La. 2 years ago. Redfish trip of a lifetime. I can't seem to find the pics though. I love saltwater fishing because the fish are so vicious. Just don't get to go near enough.

March 15, 2015. My nephew, who by the way was a heck of a WR at the 5A level (class of 2010 - Edinburg High). Could've played at the college level but chose not to. Anyway, this is a common occurrence for him on Falcon Lake. That boy is a fishin' fool! Falcon has some monsters!

Fished the Ford MegaBass tournament this past Sunday on Lake Fork. Although I didn't win the nice Bass boat I did get a check for 5th place. They set a new record with 1811 fishermen (922 boats) for the single day tourney. Rained all morning and the lake water was cloudy and full of trash from the runoff and the fish weren't biting. But I did weigh in 1 that got me a good check.

The Skeeter Owner's Tournament is coming up this weekend. Great weekend to fish or just to come out and experience the atmosphere. This year I managed to think ahead enough to actually get a place to stay on the lake instead of getting up at 3am every morning to make that drive. Looking forward to it all.

No, not directly under the bridge. This was a spot a friend of mine (a local Houston realtor) took me to. It was down a dirt road maybe a 1/4 mile from that bridge you're talking about. We were literally directly across the river from Exporter Stadium.

I was in Port Isabel this past weekend, and sadly I wasn't doing any fishing. I should have been though!

I was at the pier at Pirate's Landing in PI watching the fireworks from across the bay, and there were Snook jumping all over the damn place with several people catching/releasing them on the pier. Made me wish I had brought my fishing pole with me instead of my damn golf clubs.
