I almost thought that was a foregone conclusion that he would be going to UT, especially when he and his brother did the hook 'em sign after the championship game. Good luck to Kris, and his brother Demarco (who will likely follow when he graduates). We still get to see Demarco be a Buckeye for another year. He's a BEAST!

I think when ATM got Chavis he thought about flipping but yea it was no surprise he chose Texas.

A&M had a great shot. They were trying hard when they threw out the offer for Demarco. I'm pretty sure as was A&M it was going to be a package deal.

One Dc that's won a Natty and put multiple players in the Nfl vs a guy went 6-7 and destroyed by last place in the West Arkansas. Great choice.

Lol Chavis will improve the defense in College Station, but it will never be like LSU's. Until Sumlin stops running the spread and having 25 min of possession every game. A&M was 125th in the country last year in TOP with 26:17 the average. LSU was 9th averaging 32:58. It's not ideal at all for a defense to be on the field that often and I think that's a key reason A&M can't beat LSU, because LSU has worn them down on defense the past three years and dominate the LOS late in the game. Texas had an above average defense last year and I think it will only get better.

Chavis will improve their defense, but it will take time and it won't be ever be elite until the offensive mentality changes.

Lol what? Who other than Earl Thomas and Michael Griffin are above average in the NFL?

LSU is DBU and there's no competition, honestly it's not even close.

Hahaha I'm so confused. I'm not upset or anything, whatever gets the kids excited! It's just funny because a lot of the LSU secondary guys have been tweeting about it.

Don't get me wrong, Texas/LSU or LSU/Texas....two programs who can lay claim to DBU.

Charlie Strong won a national championship as DC at Florida, so that comparison above had me confused. I don't keep up with A&M so I missed the reference to Chavis. But I have now found upon further research that Strong won TWO national championships at Florida, so I should have known it didn't refer to him.

This comment might make more sense if Strong had been at Texas for more than one year but since he has not let's see what actually happens in a couple years, what did West Arkansas do against LSU and Ole M. Short term memory here, also atm struggled to beat WV in their bowl game and Texas dominated that same WV with their number 1 QB not their backup like the atm game. I am sure there is a good reason for all of this happening, LOl
