Top soccer matchup

If you're a soccer fan, there's a great matchup coming up next Tuesday. The Kennedale girls will host Argyle at 7:30pm. TASCO has them ranked #1 and #3 in 4A in the state and TGCA has them at #3 and #2. This should be a great tune-up for both teams before district.

Wow! Really? No, I didn't get to go to the game. Sounds like Stephenville had a great game.

Kennedale was a very good team. Possessed the ball better than Stephenville but couldn't ever build an attack from midfield into the final 3rd that was effective enough. Stephenville has one of the most solid defensive back 4 I've ever seen them have. All 4 are fast and have the ability to win tackles. Kennedale didn't ever get many solid shots on goal. I will say that Kennedale had a hoss of a midfielder that played more like a collegiate level player. Stephenville actually has a D1 commit in Bailey Chaivers (sp?). She is committed to University of Miami.

Speaking of soccer... Wylie boys beat Brownwood 2-1 in both clubs district opener. Very hard fought game--Wylie dominated the 1st half and led 2-0, Brownwood came out blazing in the 2nd half and cut it to 2-1. Crazy finish, the Lions had a PK with 54 seconds to play and the Wylie goalie made a ridiculous save to preserve the win. Lot of yellows on both teams and 2 reds on Brownwood--very chippy. Wylie plays at Stephenville Friday--should be a good one. Bulldogs have won 6 straight...

Good game last night in the Ville, Bees were ahead 2-0 at the half against AW girls. Not sure the outcome, left at half.
