Mike Rabe is moving to Katy to become Campus Athletic Coordinator and Head Football Coach at Katy Mayde Creek.

That is a big step up in pay grade.

His dad, James, was an administrator for years in Cuero - then went to Lockhart ISD.. I'm not sure if he's retired or not.. Mr and Mrs Rabe still live in Cuero.. (that's quite a commute) I don't recall him coaching but he might have a long time ago and I forgot.
I just texted Kaeron Johnson (Cuero and Baylor Grad and on staff at Conally) to see if he's moving on with Mike..

Yes he was on the best 3A team in the state in '94 that blew it in Kingsville. Congrats to Mike! Wish him much success!

Heh, I thought that name was familiar. I was on that "scrappy" lil' Port Isabel Tarpons team. Yes, we saw the headline in the Cuero newspaper (our coach subscribed) after the game.
