So who do you like in this one? I normally don't like Ohio State in anything, but I don't relish an Alabama win either. But maybe if they win this one we can watch Oregon thump them next week, so I guess I'm sorta neutral??? If OSU happens to win this one(you just don't know), then I guess I'm happy with that, considering the circumstances. I just don't think OSU should have jumped TCU in the last week, that's all.

Roughneck93

Not a fan of either of these two....

I think 'Bama wins.

Great run....

regaleagle

Ohio State strikes first with a field goal on that series. Whoopee???

regaleagle
01-01-2015, 09:15 PM
I don't see a beat down either way in this one....just a regular Big 10 vs SEC close game that is hard-hitting but not that exciting to watch.

regaleagle
01-01-2015, 09:17 PM
Not sure either of these teams could beat Oregon or TCU, but we'll see what they look like against each other. Notice that they didn't want either of these teams against Oregon or FSU....not a good matchup, imo.

regaleagle
01-01-2015, 09:21 PM
The different style of SEC Bama and Big 10 OSU vs. the best of the Big 12 or PAC 12 is what this ongoing debate about rankings is all about. Time to wrest away the favoritism from the SEC.

Winning against a Big 10 team that plays like an SEC team on a lesser level proves nothing to me. That's why TCU would have made a better matchup for a national audience, but the TV revenues said OSU had a much larger following than TCU....that's about the size of it. Political correctness, politics, and $$$$$$$.

regaleagle
01-01-2015, 09:24 PM
BTW, that was an Alabama score there. It's now 7-3 BAMA. Still early in the first.

They'll talk up OSU all night to make the Tide look good, regardless. The talking heads just cannot get off Alabama....that's their cash cow.

regaleagle
01-01-2015, 09:27 PM
He says "Ohio State has SEC speed" haha. That's funny. He didn't say Pac 12 or Big 12 speed, did he!!! Of course OSU has SEC speed....slow as molasses.

regaleagle
01-01-2015, 09:32 PM
Well golly gee willakers.....OSU just completed one to the one yd line at the pylon. "They have had major problems defending the deep ball" he says about Bama. Uhhh....no joke Sherlock. Do they deserve to be #1??? I think NOT.

Now the Buckeye qb just drops the ball and gives the Bama defense a big break. They won't score a TD now. Field goal attempt is good. 7-6 Alabama. "Now again Alabama's defense dug in when they had to" he says.....like giving up that long pass completion you mean???

regaleagle
01-01-2015, 09:40 PM
"pretty remarkable to get to the edge of the defense" he says of the 245 lb running back that is moving in slow motion. Maybe the OSU defense is just "s-l-o-w"....they certainly look that way to me after watching the other 2 games, LOL.

regaleagle
01-01-2015, 09:42 PM
Talking up Bama right now, but as soon as Buckeyes do something good, they'll be telling how great the Buckeyes are against this great SEC team of theirs, haha.

BAMA back in the red zone at the Buckeye 15 and hits Cooper for a scoring TD. Buckeye secondary is not good, I can see that already. Alabama 14-6 now.

regaleagle
01-01-2015, 09:45 PM
you trying to tell me this Buckeye team is better than TCU??? You crazy!!! TCU better offense and defense, hands down.

regaleagle
01-01-2015, 09:47 PM
It's still early though, so I'll be patient on my assessment. But just now as I'm typing the Buckeye qb retreats back to the goaline on pressure and is upended at the half yardline.

Buckeyes run it out to the 10 but will be forced to punt deep in their own end. The Buckeye qb is a backup making just his 2nd start and those beaurocrats picked them over a really impressive TCU squad. Thinking about it now, I hope BAMA just wallops this Buckeyes bunch to stick it in the ear of those that made the stupid decision.

Bullaholic

I think Bama takes this one. OSU qb too inexperienced and Bama D is too big and physical. OSU only hope is hitting some long ball plays.

Then of course it will be really nice next week to watch Oregon demoralize and put a good ol' fashioned beat down on the great BAMA. Then everybody on ESPN that is connected to the media will have egg on their faces.

regaleagle
01-01-2015, 09:55 PM
REallly stupid of the Buckeye to fair catch that one on the 5 yd. line. Now that's really using your brains, son.

Is it time for dessert yet? This game is getting BORING real quicklike.

regaleagle
01-01-2015, 10:05 PM
Really bad pass by the Buckeye backup qb. It's obvious those idiots made a very poor decision to put this team in the spotlight over TCU, or even Baylor for that matter. Baylor should've, could've won against a very good Michigan State team that also could have been a better pick than this Buckeye squad. No surprise to me, though. This will be a total FAIL for the new playoff championship series the way it came down the pike on the final week picks.

It just goes to show you how corrupt things are at the Top in everything here in America nowadays, even in sports. Or maybe we just really see it more plainly on the tube in sports. Either way, the powers that be are corrupted, mainly by money, no question.

Of course, I'm stating my opinion only in this regard, naturally. But I think many fans of NCAA football share my disgust and displeasure with what took place, except Buckeye and Big 10 fans, LOL.

regaleagle
01-01-2015, 10:13 PM
And maybe even some Alabama and SEC fans because they were happy with the matchup, LOL.

regaleagle

Judging from his interviews, I'd say Saban was especially pleased, haha.

regaleagle
01-01-2015, 10:20 PM
Hey Herb....do you think it would fly if we just jumped your Ohio State Buckeyes over those Horny Toads or Bears from the Big 12??? We'd sure like to have Ohio State with Urban Myer matched up in this one against Saban. WE think that would give the TV audience more to look forward to!!!

regaleagle

Great throw by the Buckeye qb, but not a good result on the receiving end. I think the OSU recievers are pushing off or just pushing back.

regaleagle
01-01-2015, 11:10 PM
In any case, the refs are letting them play unless they see a valid cause to throw the flag.

regaleagle
01-01-2015, 11:11 PM
OSU will continue to test this Tide secondary....they are not that good at man to man coverage. They can be beat fairly easily by a speed burner.

The backup qb from OSU has a strong arm and can throw it deep, no problemo.

regaleagle
01-01-2015, 11:14 PM
Not nearly as good as Petty, though. Buckeye D is much better than Baylor's though.

regaleagle
01-01-2015, 11:15 PM
TCU is a different story on defense than Baylor, and could certainly give either of these teams problems defending them.

regaleagle
01-01-2015, 11:18 PM
Alabama in a fight now. I think Ohio State has their number tonite. STill lots of ball left to play. This series should tell more.

regaleagle
01-01-2015, 11:31 PM
Bye Bye BAMA.....you don't have that good a defense or a passing game. You can run the power offense, but that's it. That won't work against teams with some speed and athletes.

I was preaching BAMA was overrated and shouldn't be #1 and needed a team like OSU to matchup against because they were susceptible to the pass and speed. They had a chance against these Buckeyes.

regaleagle

They just didn't count on Cordell Jones being able to pull off a win, that's all. And he hasn't yet. But they purposely matched BAMA with Ohio State because of these factors, can't you see that?
