I'm blown away at how well Starks defense is playing. They are obviously coached good and their schemes are fantastic against a very fast Gilmer offense. Stark seems to be way more physical also.
only thing I saw work for Sinton against them was passing in the middle of the field but need the blocking up front to let those routes develop

Wow, WOS imploded. The called back play at the end of the first half may have been the turning point clearly. I missed the block in the back, unless they called it on the block I saw which was not in the back. That would have probably proven to be too much to come back from.

He was definitely implying, the way I interpreted it, that Gilmer didn't come out ready to play in the first half. And I don't think anyone would disagree with that.

I saw the Buckeyes play a first half like yesterday's, 2 years ago. We had a weather delayed/postponed game from Friday night to Saturday morning, playing against Daingerfield. The Bux won that game, but they were pitiful and all out of sync and just not playing Buckeye football. Yesterday I saw the same thing in the first half, so it would seem that our players are not ready to go for early games.

I don't see us scheduling any preseason games for Saturday noon or anything of the sort. We should just hope that if we are lucky enough to make it to the Big Dance again in the future that the game starts later in the day.

WOS definitely had our number yesterday. A great coaching job and excellent execution by their players.

It sucks not bringing home that trophy for us but at the same time I couldn't help but think that #8 was out there playing with yall in the second half. Hats off to the Gilmer kids. They could have given up when they were down so much. Was a good football game yesterday and hopefully there will be a few more in the future between the two storied programs.

Thanks for the kudos...Something else...we also had Jersey #68 with us for the coin toss (Longview News Saturday front page &, as I understand, Dallas Morning News). #68 was Gladewater Football Player Nikalas Wisinger, who was killed in a car wreck in September.

No doubt Dez was with us this season. I believe he was on the field with us for the 4th down stand and game winning drive against Gladewater and the 2nd half of the state championship game. How else can you explain the dropped pass on 4th down with no one close to him or the 3 or 4 fumbles that would slip through multiple WO-S players when they were laying right on top of the ball only to settle in a Gilmer player's hands. It was Dez.

Jeff's interview after the game was awesome. Very emotional. It brought tears to my eyes.

I've never been more proud in my life to say I am a Gilmer Buckeye!
