"High Noon" in Philly on Sunday night....What do you think? Because Dallas has played so well on the road I have to believe they can win but on the other hand which Philly team will show up? The one we saw Thanksgiving or the one that was at home last night? Hopefully the latter.

I can't think yet, because I am trying to figure out the "High Noon" and Sunday Night thing. Philly have its own time zone?

I stated before, that even though this game is not a win or go home game, it is at least in December, and is highly important even though it is not live or die. So, this is the next possible measuring stick for how Romo plays in a big game with playoff status at least on the line. He has proven to play well in big games early in the year, when the since of urgency is not there, but has historically not played well at all in big games towards the end of the year or when it is win or go home.

We know that Philly is going to stack the box on Murray again, so it is going to be up to Romo and the receivers to take advantage of that early to make them adjust.

I just want Dallas to win 11 games so Mike Golic has to send Bubba and his dog to a playoff game!!

Buff, the "High Noon" reference is to the academy award winning 1952 movie, "High Noon" which starred Gary Cooper, Grace Kelly, and Lloyd Bridges. Gary Cooper plays a town marshall who has to face alone an outlaw at high noon, who he jailed, and his gang arriving on a train. The reference has evolved to refer to any high-stakes confrontation between two parties. Only some old timers like me and Phil C would know what I was talking about, so sorry if I jumped that far back in time for some of the younger posters.

I will agree that Romo has not played well in December in big games, but more importantly the Cowboys team hasn't played well. He isn't the type of qb to win it by himself, but if the team plays well I believe he is very effective. We will see

Actually it pretty much is a win or go home game. There's about a 99% chance that the Cowboys are not going to get a wild card. They have to win the division.

It would just be difficult. The Cowboys won't win any tiebreakers in a wild card situation.

I said since before the Thanksgiving game that the series would split. I'm really hoping that happens.

Yeah, that is not right. Unless you are implying we lose to the Colts and that that would take us out of hunt with win against skins or not. But I am not sure it takes us out of hunt either automatically.

It would take a major meltdown by Detroit or Seattle in order them to make the playoffs if they lose to Philly unless they can somehow beat Indy. then its a toss up. At 11-5 they have a decent shot but would depend on other teams losing. they need to win out to guarantee a spot

Deuce
12-09-2014, 03:39 PM
OK, let me rephrase this and take out the percentage!

If the Cowboys lose this weekend, they will need a lot of help to get into the playoffs. They could win the final 2 games and still need a ton of help. 11-5 does not guarantee this team a playoff spot. The only way they are guaranteed a spot is to win the final 3.

I think if Dallas's defense can find a pass rush they'll win this game. That's what drove me crazy about last game. Any pressure on Sanchez and he will fold or throw up INT's just do what you have to to get pressure on him. Blitz or not

If they go 11-5 they have real good chance of making the playoffs. They teams that we are looking at are Detroit, Seattle, and Arizona. We just have to beat out one of those teams. I don't expect those teams to win out. I havent looked at their schedules, but I am willing to bet all 3 of those teams don't go 11-5.

Seattle has SF,Arizona and finish with rams at home. They look like they'll win out the way their defense is playing. Detriot has Minnesota, @GB and finish @ Chicago. Atleast one loss there maybe two. Looks like Dallas can only afford one loss and will need Detriot to lose a couple to get in as a wildcard. Dallas needs to be at playoff level from here on out and win out to be playing their best going in.

I am remaining positive. I am giving Romo credit for 2 win or go home wins in his career now. He played well. The fumble after sitting in the pocket for 5 seconds was frustrating, but he rebounded well. Sadly, they have to treat Indy as a win or go home game as well to keep playoff hopes in our control, not counting on others.

It is amazing how well Romo can play at times and then how poorly he can play at others. Great win for the 'boys and an excellent job of getting re-focused after what seemed like a complete concentration collapse by the offense and Tony. I was about ready to turn it off after the Eagles made their run and took the lead but Romo responded. I was expecting another Romo meltdown and even picked the Philly defense on my fantasy team. And I will admit I was wrong. Romo came through with some great throws when they counted the most. But I will also say there was a 2 quarter period where Romo made the EAgles defenders look like Hall of Famers again. And let's not forget on the 2nd Dallas possession Romo escaped a pick 6 for no other reason than a drop by the Eagle defender and that would have completely altered the outcome of this game. But he did get back into a grove late and pulled it out. but based on how well they play on the road and how poor at home I'm wondering if home field advantage is really an advantage?

I'm also wondering just how focused the Colts will be next week coming into Dallas? They have clinched the division already so will probably play very conservative and sit a bunch of starters. Trap game for Dallas?

It wasn't as close as you make it out.

And so did rogers yesterday. Every QB has throws they would like to have back. Of course, in your world, romo is the only one. Your analysis of philly getting hot is hilarious. The defense looks like a sieve and gives up 24 points and its romos fault. You are so transparent.

The Cowboys were challenged in a big-time, high-stakes game, and they responded. That says volumes about this Cowboys team---they learned to play at the level they will need to have any playoff successes if they they make it in. Great Cowboy victory and I hope they can carry the momentum into the Indy game. Go Cowboys!
