It is just a crying shame that there is no where to talk smack about this game, specially on a 3/4 A board. If there ever was a game to get the juices flowing, this is the one.:foul:

This is truly a dream match-up. As long as Cameron and Rockdale have been playing each other, this has never happened. Now, it is happening in the state quarterfinals.

For those that are not familiar with this rivalry, it is one of the biggest in the state. Every year, you have overflow crowds in either Cameron or Rockdale. Georgetown holds over 12k, but I would not be surprised if there is an overflow crowd here as well. Even with all that, many feel these are the two best teams in the state. There is still a ways to go, but this could very well decide who wins the state championship.

You will have people coming out of the woodwork for this one. Heck RC, Todd Dodge should even show up for this since he was a part of it, huh?

I am very sure Rockdale will bring it being though they so seldom have it in their grubby little hands.

Cameron lost to:

Connally 63 -49
China Spring 23- 14
Refugio 27 -20
Rockdale 34- 27

Since the Rockdale loss Cameron has averaged 45 point a game vs 16 for the opponent. That includes 3 consecutive wins over higer seeded opponents in the playoffs.

Rockdales lone loss was to Academy 42-35 Week 8 of District.
Rockdale is average 40 points a game for the season while giving up 18.

From what I read, Rockdale had many (up to 7) players out with injuries in their loss.

Should be another good one. It is hard to beat a good team twice. Give me Yoe by 3.

"The superintendents talked about it before the season and mutually agreed that if we met again that the bell would not be on the line,” said Rockdale’s Jeff Miller, "

“I didn’t have anything to do with that decision,” said Cameron coach Rick Rhoades of excluding the first playoff meeting between the teams from Battle of the Bell consideration. “The decision was never brought to me. If two teams who play for the bell are playing, then the bell ought to be involved.”

"How good was Class 3A Division I Region III, from which either Rockdale or Cameron will emerge as the champion Friday? Teague finished with 11 wins. Whitney and Buna had 10 victories on the season and all three of those teams were ousted in the area (second) round of the playoffs. Cameron downed Teague and Rockdale topped Buna. The Yoemen also handed Whitney its only regular-season loss.

Counting Malakoff, whose two losses were to Teague and Buna, seven teams from the region opened the playoffs with at least 9-1 records this year.

Kirbyville and East Chambers, who lost last week to Rockdale and Cameron, respectively, both concluded their years with 11 victories."
