Once you get deep into the playoffs, the rankings don't mean so much because several ranked teams have been eliminated by then. I remember one or two of the publications had Wimberley as the favorite going into that game. In fact, one of the local Houston TV sports reporters repeated this in their newscast. I still recall being surprised to hear it and how it got my attention.

I was chasing my dog once after he got out into the road and tore mine and in cold weather it still bothers me occasionally and that was 12 years ago. I expect he will have difficulty moving around out of the pocket.

Yeah Yoakum got robbed in that game. Sorrell ran opening KO 90 yds for TD, got called back on penalty. 2 more tds called back on penalties. It was one of those games where it seemed the refs just weren"t going to let us win. We stomped them everywhere but the scoreboard. The next week Bellville lost state by 7 points. Hate it when the refs get too involved in a game like this.
Yoakum had the team in 77 to win it all!

Trust me, Handson will be fine come Friday. Yoakum not thinking any other way. Even if it comes, him just setting up in pocket, he's deadly. Ask Wimberley. To me, will come down to turnovers. Least team committing these, wins.

QB Tyler Handson, whom Sinton coach Tom Allen said “tweaked” a hamstring last week.

Yes they are dangerous team, looked a lot better throwing the ball in Cuero game and Hights escaped on some plays most qb's don't escape from and he also play defensive back and came up and made some stops against the run with his speed.

I saw on Yoakums Facebook page they posted the video of Cohea making it seem like he was saying the reason Sinton lost is cause they were missing players. Yoakums good Sintons good Cueros good on any day anyone can win. All he was saying is that he is confident. What's he suppose to say they beat us the first time and they are gonna beat us again. I saw on Yoakums Facebook page they posted the video of Cohea making it seem like he was saying the reason Sinton lost is cause they were missing players. Yoakums good Sintons good Cueros good on any day anyone can win. All he was saying is that he is confident. What's he suppose to say they beat us the first time and they are gonna beat us again. You got to remember he was out that game so he has to believe he can help his team. No disrespect to anyone or any team.

Not gonna lie, it got a lot of hackles up. Saying we weren't missing players when we played y'all, but we're the week before, when in fact the young man doing the actual interview was one of our key player missing in our game vs the dogs, due to an ankle injury, and THEN saying we were using it as an excuse for the loss...one y'all have never used, was frustrating to read, Especially since Colton did not use it as an excuse, just said they were glad to get another chance at y'all. I don't mind the trash talk...just adds fuel to the fire. These are two great teams. Actions speak louder than words. May both teams have a good, injury free game! GOOOO BIG MAROON!!!

Just my luck. I am off this weekend but I have a bad case of the flu. I even had a flu shot. I was looking forward to going to my first non Gobbler game.. I think it will be a close one. If Yoakum puts 8 or 9 in the box I think Sinton will have much better luck than Cuero had.

As for SA traffic. You better give yourself an extra hour or so. Three weeks ago it took us 1 hour and 20 minutes to go 23 miles. Needless to say we missed the whole first half. Left Cuero at 5:45 got to Hero Stadium after 8:30. You never know about SA traffic. Better to be in the area an hour earlier than expected than an hour late!! LOL!!

Hights vs Handson is the setting....who do you like? Give me them Yoakum Bulldogs and Tre Hights to make the plays when his team needs him tonite. It's been a looong time for the Bulldogs, but tonite Yoakum finds a way to play with total team chemistry and wins this big game. Hights will be the catalyst, but the rest of the team will impress. They'll find a way to stop Handson and the Pirates on crucial downs. I believe this game will be very close.....Sinton knows how to win big games. But I also believe Yoakum has more than enough to overcome adversity tonite and finally plays up to their potential as a complete team. Besides, it will be a tall order to hold down a player like Hights the whole game, esp. with this many games under his belt, lol. You saw glimpses of that last week. I'll take Yoakum in a scoring battle 44-35.

To my Bulldogs: Great year Dog's. So proud and you made all us in the NATION thankful for being able to witness and jump on this ride we have not had in Yoakum since our state run back in 50's. Hold head high. You did what many said couldn't be done. And, IMO you have changed the way Yoakum Football will be played now for many decades. The younger kid's believe and have witnessed what a "TEAM" concept can do under any adversity. Young eye's watch and they want some of this.

Hat's off to Sinton, and congrats and best wishes moving forward. Best team from R4 won and will represent us well in Houston next week. For the record, and based on what's returning, Sinton might be even better next year. Yes, Handson-like comes once (if that often) in 25 years, but when you have Owens and Cohea, to build around, I think you can find someone just to guide the Pirate ship. Hate it when some one just comes in and starts questioning the obvious compassion a Sinton Poster feels about the Program. If they feel it is a Storied program so be it. Who are any of us to say different. I also hate it when people blow smoke and don't stand up for who they are or where they are from. Got lots of friends from Calallen. I'll be sure to break out my thesaurus next time I want to post on this board, on the off chance that YOU may be on here. :foul:I have only lived in Sinton for the last 10 years but have as much pride in our FULL athletic program as any person who grew up here. How dare you try to minimize anything these kids have done. We never have the biggest boys or the fastest, but they always find a way to compete. Maybe they've only made it to the finals...that's still top two in the state, and we're still top four for the second year in a row, not to mention the countless times we've been in the playoffs. There are a whole lot of teams (including Calallen) who wish they were where we are right now. I stick to my choice of "storied" and I don't care what the heck you have to say about it. Our Pirates, be they football or baseball or basketball players ( the latter two of which HAVE won championships) are just as my handle states EPIC! I am Terri, and I am SOOO PROUD OF THEM ALL!!! Dist game against Sinton he had around 200 yds. This time around 35 yds.

no control on teams you face and not going to matter who you face, if you don't prepare and execute for the team you face then odds are you're done. So WOS first opponent 0-10 had no bearing of how they would be prepare for their next opponent, they played the team in front of them and moved on made no difference if it's a strong team or weak team. If the uil keeps alignment like it is they should only allow three teams in and give the district champ a bye in the first round. That way they are rewarded for winning district and the non district Champs can weed out the weaker teams
