That could be your only hope but I don't think it will help you. Burnet has a very good balance offensive attack. Good running game also.

This game will be a slug fest. Throw out the record book, stats, etc. Don't mean nothing here. Our guys were 38 seconds away from playing roundball this past Saturday and pulled out a come from behind win. Their desire to get to this game was overwhelming. I think we took RF a bit too lightly and it nearly cost us. Burnet did that against La Vega and it did cost them. I hope Burnet assumes we are just a stepping stone to the next level. I think they will find it won't be that easy.

Both teams have beat common opponents. Both teams lost to AW (one certain green team got a mudhole stomped in them by AW). While the desire to move on to the next round is high for both teams, its even greater for both teams to chalk up another potential W against a long time rival. Its only fitting that it is set on the stage of the 4th round of the playoffs. These kids have been playing each other since they were in Jr. High or earlier. There's no doubt that the calfpuppies have measured up this far, so have the Panthers. LH wins by a field goal.

Oh and green still sucks, guess that is why ya'll have been changing your uniform colors.:taunt:

For stats I like the maxprep rankings. It is a computer model using enormous information. It is 100% objective. Cold hard unfeeling facts - no personal opinions. For all schools -Texas has Burnet ranked 75 LH 92, for all schools in Region 4- Burnet 8 LH 10 and for all 4A Div 1 schools - Burnet 6 LH 8.

I agree that the intangibles will be the difference in this game. Execution of plays and mistakes will be a big factor. I don't think the clock will be a issue. Burnet will be able to stop LH's offense. In some of Burnets games opponets probably had the ball on offense more because Burnet moves down the field in big chunks and can strike quickly. Anxiously awaiting the game. All this back and forth about who will win is interesting, but as you all know, what counts is what happens Friday night.
It is clear to me that what really matters is:
*Preparation-LH appears to be focusing on the passing game which is understandable. I suspect Burnet is reacquainting themselves with the Slot-T.
*Weather-Strong wind and rain would work in LH favor. Not likely at this point.
*Mental state-Leadership can launch either team to an oppressive start and allow big MO to propel a team to victory.
*Breaks-A timely turnover or poor call (when will we get replay?) could be the difference.

Both teams have shown their strength and talent to get them here. We will know Friday night.

Oh he'll make it - can't wait to see our new Spread T in action - zig zag right rush, corkscrew turnaround with a triple twist up high pass, QB draw with a half back lateral reverse on left, march down the field doing it over and over, then a 4th down stand, Lh calls the wounded duck pass - Burnet sets up for it cause they are stealing signs (you know covering our lone receiver out there all by his lonesome), and instead QB audibles, (hey go that way) tight end runs crossing route and SCOREs!!!

Defense - Ref warns defense to stop being so mean. We get called opn a nonsense "givin him the bidness" call. No worries, Monster rush on the next play and sack, catlike reflexes stealing the ball before the center delivers to the Qb on the third down play, Burnet punts and its blocked, LH delivers a scoop and score.

I'll admit I really haven't read much of this thread, but I will say I was very impressed with the Burnet team when I saw them against Robinson in the earlier matchup. I looked at their personnel, their size, their team chemistry, and thought they had a shot to go deep this season. I reckon they have improved quite a bit since then....like most teams. But the athletisim, size, and chemistry are all foundational requirements for a team to keep winning at this level. Haven't seen Liberty Hill so cannot really give an opinion in their regards. I expect this to be a very hard-hitting back and forth affair, though. Good luck to both squads and come out rumbling, haha.

RF knew how LH teaches it, knows what the reads are, the counters are, etc. Burnet probably has a good defensive game plan for this one. However, I doubt it's as thorough as RF's was. Once LH figures out what you're doing and how you're playing it, the counters will start coming, and coming. Good luck to the Burnet front 7:evil grin:

This thread has got to be one of the all time best love fests between 2 adjacent towns this deep into the playoffs. :)

I surely hope for a clean, fairly officiated contest so that the love fest can continue. Both teams have some great players and great coaching. Would love to be there.
