Did Tyler Handson break his leg last night by any chance? Because that seems to work for us.He seem to have gotten a cramp on about 30 yd run and stop him from scoring. played one more series after that and didn't play anymore around mid 3rd qtr. Sinton went with the freshman team qb after that........

Nah, I'm just sandbagging. I was pretty proud of everything today, even the coaching.

If we can eliminate some of those penalties (which might happen by simply having another crew) we have a pretty good chance to win this.

Depth can be crucial at this point...Lord, I'd love to see some of the younger guys shine on Friday...they have gotten some reps but we need everyone on Friday. Hard to see the scenario that has Sinton losing this one...it's gonna be D15 in the next round one way or the other.

I can't help but notice that in the past 10 years, Wimberley has won two state championships, and D15 has combined for... ZERO?!?!!?!?

Now we're not as good as we were in 2005 or 2011, and it's fair that we're the underdogs in this, but D15 is not exactly the duck's nuts.

Just don't see Sinton getting the W here. Their D is getting better but not that much better. They've had some good outings against a couple of not so good offenses in the play-offs. I have no idea, but I was under the impression that the defense's goal is to limit points, not passing yards.

And let's see, that backup OG QB put 42 points in 3 quarters against a D15 team the week before. He put up 6 points against Wimberley.

But maybe you guys have different rules in D15, seeing as how y'all apparently invented football.

From Wimberley Radio site :) http://wimberleyradio.org/event/uil-state-playoffs-round-3-vs-sinton/?instance_id=97

The Texans are coming off a dominating performance against the Orange Grove Bulldogs.

Up next: The (9-3) Sinton Pirates, led by dual-threat Senior QB Tyler Handson, who has passed for 1951 yards and has 1142 yards on the ground.

No need to fear though, the Texans have a core group of experienced Seniors themselves, led by QB Colton Cerday and the best Running back tandem in the State with West Lambert and Sam Drew. Cerday also has plenty of options through the air as well with deep-threat Alex Mireles and shifty Brock McDorman.

The Texan defense has become a wrecking crew filled with heavy hitters like Ben Garza, Cole Larsen, Jake O’Connor, and Westin Pruski.

Look for the Texans to dominate the line of scrimmage and put up early points against the one-dimensional Pirates.

Wimberley by 14.Sinton 1st team defense hasn't given up a touchdown in the playoffs, scores came from 2 kick off returns, a block extra point return for 2 and in both games the backups gave up a late touchdown. The defense will be tested but don't think Wimberley has the speed from the skill position like Sinton saw from Cuero and Yoakum.

I just shake my head every time the young man on Wimberley Radio makes that claim. They are good. #34 Drew has decent speed and can make you miss and you'll know it when #32 Lambert finishes a run but you'll never hear any of us here make that claim. lol Oh yeah..we did not dominate OG either.

It's all good Tt. That's what local media do. I can assure you no one put's stuff like this up on their bulletin board. I'm sure all local media, from all teams, do it. As they should. They have a local following and advertisers to please.

This should be a one of the best games in the state.yea maybe not but I wonder what Sweeny newspaper put to upset LaMarque coach last week

I'm looking forward to seeing a Texan game after being out of town for a couple months. I've stayed up on all the stats and info that I could and excited with all the improvement. I think I called it before the season for the success of the Texans late and where I thought they would be right now. There is so many good games this week too. I would love to see the Cuero Yoakum game but I'm going to go watch Blanco and EB game instead. ( our friends just to the west who are really good ) and then a couple games at Alamo stadium tomorrow. I'm so ready for some HS football games.
Sorry Snot. I know your not convinced yet ,BUT ,Wimberley slows down their very good QB and pulls out the 35 - 28 victory.

Some final notes of the two teams before it gets played on the field and not on stats,

Sinton (9-3) comes in averaging 46 pts/game in their current 4 game win streak and 1st team defense hasn't given up any points in the playoffs.

Wimberlely (8-3) has given up only 6 pts in the playoffs and haven't allowed more than 34 points in a game this season.

Greeeeeeeat QB. Really good receivers. #40 is a real beast too.

Not impressed with the defense, but better than ours was.

No idea why our coaches continued to blitz the house over and over and over. Seems like after the third one-play TD drive, we would have scrapped that. Handson obviously loved seeing all that single-coverage.

Just got home..poured me a glass of wine. Needed something to recover from all the butt sphincter contractions I suffered from this game. I agree with all you said. rb585. Handson looked like he was playing sandlot back there. It was obvious our corners were struggling. Kudos to both Handson and Owens. Great tandem. Not sure what to think about Sinton going for it on 4th down inside their own 20 late in the 4th. They made it. It's a mute point. Play of the game was the one handed stab of the pass thrown into the end zone. Don't remember the young man's number, but Handson put the ball up and he literally grabbed the ball out of the air with his right hand a la the a Giant receiver against the Cowboys last week. Don't know if he did it with three fingers, but it was a great catch. Handson has a rocket for an arm. Owens is tough. Makes the plays he needed to make.

We do good and maintain aggressiveness if we stay around 7 per game. Over that, we really hamper ourselves, and kill drives we can't sometimes make up for, and need to punt or allow opponents drives to continue. IE: Friday, we had 2 TD's called back. 0 flag's would be great, but--our style, not happening. TO's is what we have to focus on. Just 1 Friday. That will work. And, catching routine passes. Drop 2 more TD's as well Friday.

We went to the game last night. We were already there & even though we had to take Adam back to San Marcos for work, we figured SM was either halfway home or halfway back to SA. I have seen a LOT (:helpme:) of Wimberley football over the past 19 1/2 years. I sent a text to a few LH folks when Wimberley tied it at 14 that they were very good. They remind me a lot of some previous teams. I kept looking at #32 to figure out why his style was so familiar then I heard his name - DUH! (He also reminded me of Buse.) As good as they were, they happened to run into a better team in Sinton.

Great job, Pirates! I'm glad we decided to stick around & sit behind p4s & SR.

Right before that, Sinton had a 4th-and-3 and Handson threw a pass high and behind his receiver. The kid went all Matrix to make an unbelievable catch.

After those two plays, I knew we were in trouble.
