State Volleyball Final: Argyle(39-8) vs Decatur(39-10) at 2 pm Today

Defending State Champion in Volleyball the Decatur Lady Eagles will defend their title today against the Argyle Lady Eagles at 2 pm at the State Tournament in Garland. Both squads have been on a tear all season, and it is only fitting that these two schools square off in the final match of the season to determine this year's state champion. Decatur defeated Argyle early in the season in their annual match 3-1, but Argyle has not lost a match since then, reeling off 17 consecutive winning matches. TTech commit and team captain Katy Keenan(6-2, MH) was injured early in the season and did not play in that earlier meeting against Decatur, as did another Argyle starter. Now both squads are at full strength and this should be a real battle. Good luck to both teams today. Great season for the Argyle Lady Eagles on a worthy run for the State title. Kudos to Coach Clark Oberle for his role in coaching these girls. And many congrats to the Decatur Lady Eagles on once again claiming another State Championship in volleyball. Not many teams(none in 4A) defeated Argyle this season, but Decatur did it twice. Yep....the only school in 4A to defeat the Lady Eagles of Argyle this season was the Lady Eagles of Decatur. All other losses came from higher classifications. Good stuff from both teams.
