Man , two teams that just always seem to have Vernon's number. I have to go with the former district mates in Graham on this one. These teams have always just been so well coached, this will be another good game but I see Graham making it 2-0 this year against Wylie.

My initial thoughts on this one, both teams strengths match up very well with what each other like to do. You will get the polar opposite in this game vs. the other region 1 semifinal. It will be a defensive slugfest IMO and the first to 20 wins.

I think we match up very well against Graham in this one. I am confident our defense can slow their roll, and our offense is playing considerably better than our 1st match up and should keep the Steers offense off the field and sustain/finish a few drives in the process. I do believe that we are going to have to establish a little bit of a passing threat to advance from here on out, we have not shown that card yet in the playoffs. Wylie 28-24.

Not knocking your stadium--it is the nicest one between Midland and the Metroplex. But the turf has degraded seriously. It is packed down and coming apart--little blades of artificial grass everywhere and the are several raised seams on the field. I have no reason to lie... just time for a new carpet--stadium is great.

Nothing but respect here for Graham. Great program, good kids, excellent coaching, play sound defense and consistent but not flashy offense--literally like looking in a mirror. Wylie is playing MUCH better offensive football though right now than the 1st game and will not turn the ball over 5 times (at least I certainly hope not!). Wylie D is arguably the best in the state IMO. I'll go with the 'Dawgs 27-21 in a very physcial, full 4 quarter slobberknocker. Just hope whover wins is not too beat up and exhausted to play well against the Big Spring/Stephenville winner...

I like both these teams and their style of play. I will have to be a homer in this one and vote Wylie to win. I think this will be a great game. As a fan I would love to see a rematch of Stephenville vs Wylie. I would like for Stephenville to introduce Jarrett Stidham to Wylie's defense. They truly have to the best defense; at least in Region 1 if not in the state. It would be a fair offense vs a fair defense and the #1 offense vs the #1 defense. I would love to see how that would play out. But to each their own...both teams have great opponents this week to get past first. It will exciting to see how it shakes out.

We have made a couple of personnel changes this past week that made our defense even better than what it was in game 1 against Wylie. Offense is clicking just as good with about 7 different playmakers. To be honest my only 2 concerns with this team are us putting the ball on the ground and not having a reliable field goal kicker. I set and watch it every week and unless it gets fixed, it could be our downfall! I scratch my head every season about the kicking problem and the fact that we can't kick the ball off past the 35 yard line! Oh well, I guess every team has a few flaws.

I love that folks think Wylie will win...Everyone has an opinion and that is just fine..I think many folks will be surprised at the outcome Friday night.. The Graham--Wylie match ups are among the best around.. We play every year and we know each other well.. As we all know Graham beat Wylie in Wylie 18-7 week three.. Okay fine.. Wylie has improved since then of-coarse....... Graham has made huge leaps and bound on the offensive side of the ball.... Guess we will just have to prove it come game time... I will not say a thing bad about Wylie... A fine crew indeed.. Graham wins this one like we have won the last two meetings.....

I kinda figure they had it tapped for some playoff games at this round and dedicated the western side of the Metroplex to Region 1 playoff games. Your game got the slot because of the relative location of both schools.

Now it gets really good with the 4 consensus best teams squaring off--3 (Big Spring, Stephenville and Wylie) from our district and Graham. We all know each other very well--Wylie has played all 3 of the others, so has Big Spring, Graham has played us and Big Spring, Stephenville the same. Stephenville has Stidham back and can put up other-wordly offensive #'s, Graham has a fantastic defense and sometimes explosive offense, Big Spring can score from anywhere and at anytime as well as anyone in the state, Wylie has an outstanding defense and a very good ball control running attack with quality running backs going 5 deep. Sure wish I could be in two places at once to watch both games!

TRENCH WARFARE, without a doubt. I think Graham may pass more, though. Might be advised in this type of affair. BUT.....Wylie has those athletic tall D-backs to consider. And those HUGE DE's. This one will be a classic for sure. I have no idea who will come out on top. Both teams are defensively stout, and both teams can score.

Everyone was talking about how much improved the Brownwood Lions were and Graham seemed to handle them pretty easily. Not saying Wylie is Brownwood, just saying everyone has improved since their last meeting. Don't believe it will be a blow out by either team. I heard wylie coach wouldn't have it ! MW wasn't far enough and wanted a bigger stadium !! I guess not far enough for charter buses ? I thought wylie had their own "charter buses"??

We played Decatur there in the 1st round and it is true. Turf not very good.

Well thank you. Yes sir, I know all about these two programs. Doesn't get any better than when Wylie/Graham/Brownwood/Stephenville play one another, in my opinion. Past three years have been awfully busy with law school and what not, but it's slowing down a bit so that's good. Yes, I went to Baylor for undergrad and then Tech for law school. I told my buddy this morning that I would love to get to Birdville for this game and to meet/see everyone, I think that would be a ton of fun. But, I won't be able to make it happen.

From what I can tell you Steers have got a stout defense, as does Wylie. I'd much rather take in a game like you boys are about to play, compared to a 65-64 type game. Y'all are lucky to have the programs y'all have. On my end I'm just hoping LH and Burnet both win this weekend so I can maybe take in that game next weekend!

You missed the point didn't you. I'm saying that if you look at the 4 teams that are still in contention in the region: Wylie, Sville, Big Spring, Graham., 3 of them are from the same district. Hey guys this is my baby girl, she was about a month old here. She was born early and 3.5 lbs so we couldnt go home and decided to sport our steer gear at the hospital. Today 3 years later you can find a fiery red headed little girl on the front row in her cheer suit screaming for bubba right beside her dad the bear. You cant even tell she was so little because shes the little girl of a bear and chows down like her daddy does. Shes smart healthy and literally came into this world cheering on the Steers..... I just thought id share that with you guys...we love TXHS football , the players, and God in this casa.
