Welcome back Stidham!!!! Like I said yesterday, the main difference between Chavy and Stidham was the running aspect. Ole #1 had 181 yards rushing. Every Jacket receiver had a td reception as well. Very tough to defend that. The Estacado defense was shredded by the Jacket offense. Estacado returned the favor as we gave up almost 700 yards. Too late or unable to fix it, so we look turn every game into a track meet. Hope it keeps working. Again lets not forget the play Chavy has provided along the way. He was thrown into a pressure packed situation in a very demanding town, not to mention against some extremely good football teams. We arent playing today without his efforts. Now let the focus turn to Big Spring!

Who said the D was improved with Stidham in the game? The difference is that Stidham does not turn the ball over, converts 3rd downs and scores in the red zone. If our D gets a stop and we don't lose the ball on special teams we win...how far will will it take us this year??? I will say to at least the semifinals. Get ready Big Spring!!

Offense was 10 for 10 tonight scoring on drives with Stidham in the game. If you can out score your opponent it works. Looking forward to the BS rematch next Friday....I predict an instant classic no matter which way it goes.

At this point we are who we are, a great offense that just needs 1 or 2 stops a half. I also work for Hotels.com.

Crazy stat, the opposing offense is 9 for 11 on 4th downs the last 2 games. Frustrating to play good defense for 3 downs and not be able to stop on 4th down. But hey we are great at stopping 2pt conversions.

Oh well the Jackets get another week of practice and Thanksgiving football looking to get to December football.

Stephenvile v. Big Spring will be next Friday right back in Abilene at Shotwell. Just don't have a time yet.

Stephenville put on another offensive show against a porous yet fast and athletic defense. Defensively, Stepehnville is simply a big play allowing defense. To their defense (;)) they have gone up against several explosive offenses that put up big numbers. It is what it is. Like I said before and what several others that know this team and have said as well... The long 3rd and 4th down conversions that are given up are killers. If I were scouting against Stepehnville, I would do the same thing other teams have done with a good dual threat QB. When faced with 3rd and long or 4th and long, set up pass protect and throw an out to your best play maker or run a play action bubble screen. Good for 10-50 yards every time. SMH

On the flip side, Stephenville has one of the best offenses in the state... Thank goodness!!

We have also been getting killed on 3rd/4th and long. At this point in the season you can't be making whole sale changes scheme or personnel wise, but they need a 3rd/4th down and long personnel group with the very best athletes we have on the field.

The defense is always a conversation topic... At least for the past several seasons. But then again, in the the past 2 weeks games the defense has made several key stops, caused several turnovers, and down right plays physical enough to slow down the opponent enough to win. It's not heart warming at all to have to witness this as a fan. It's more like a heart attack waiting to happen in every 3rd and 4th down. Gonna have to nickname this years defense the heart attack D!

But when it's all said and done, we may just be staring at a entrance of Jerry World in a few weeks to support this heart attack D. The offense is virtually unstoppable. Yes Wylie held them to 7. I would like to see what the difference is with #1 at the helm. I bet it's the difference in 21-28 pts. Maybe it'll happen maybe it won't but we can all agree that excitement will be present.

I'm a HUGE fan of Ville. Just seemed to me IMHO had we adjusted with a 4 man front we would have capitalized on some of those 3rd/4th downs. Especially seeing how they were 5/6 on 4th and long. Gotta find a way to stop that if we want to go to Jerry World.

In that order. And that's from this HS football fans view. If you watched enough HS football, you know anything can happen and especially with talented teams. I am an optimist yet realistic person. I still believe this group can get it done but will HAVE to keep out scoring opponents. I don't like that brand of football as much either. Do I like the offensive scheme, love it! I was a RB and would have loved this type of offense instead of the wing-t. I do believe that out the 4 teams standing in Reg 1, 1 of them will make Jerry's World. And I like Stephenville's chances. We'll have to have a TXDL M&G and meet up at Jerry's World this year whether VILLE is in it or not.
