Just curious... How did the flip home and home come about? Did y'all flip for a home and home flip opportunity?

Word is that no stadium was available, and both coaches agreed to a flip for home game.

Just how does that work??? I had always heard that they both had to agree on a neutral site and that if either coach wanted to flip for Home and Home, they automatically flipped H &H.

Is that the only circumstance in which they go home and home? What if one wants neutral and one wants home and home.

Abilene High plays at home in the Playoffs more than any team I have seen..........

they have to try to find a SUITABLE site....but if they both agree .... This is all up to both Staffs... Only the S.C. is set in stone and that has only been in the last four years...

Sounds like Graham has everything in their pocket on this one. A "home" game in Round 2....geez! I don't understand how any coaching staff would agree to that at such a distance between these schools. Now if both teams were located in the same city.....perhaps. But really not even then....cities have plenty of venues for playoff games. And that's just the point....surely there could be a time and date scheduled for this game at a neutral site at one of the many venues that could sponsor these sized fanbases in their stadium. I just don't get it. Maybe Graham supplied the coin, haha.

Didn't think about this until Bear replied, but he is spot on. Very similar to Argyle/Graham last year. 10 minutes from Argyles house. With all the Graham traffic, this will be 10 minutes from my house!

If I remember correctly, Sweetwater hosted a playoff game against Graham while Jackson was HC at Sweetwater. Believe the team Sweetwater knocked off was undefeated as well. Guess Jackson felt like he owed Graham a return trip, ha!

Abilene plays a bunch of home playoff games because they usually either play lubbock or metroplex schools early in playoffs. Very few stadiums in between those locations could hold 6A games, which leads to home flips. Warren at AHS must be pretty good at calling the toss or winning the zip code game or however they "flip" to determine who is hosting.

Would've had to of been 2001. Sweetwater beat Graham in the bi-district round 30-22 and then lost to
Kennedale the following week 37-42.

Graham will play anyone anywhere! Don't tell me for a second of any of you had a chance to play a Playoff game at home you would not jump on it! If BOTH coaches agree on something it is what it is. Its a 50/50 shot it just happen to go the way of the Steers. But I can hear it now, they had their own coin on their own field and brought their own refs. No matter what the Steers do there are going to be haters! Go Steers!
