Have yall noticed how Bandera has been on the quite side of sports lately? It makes you wonder, what is important in Bandera? Is it just football or what? For some reason most of us have been raised to believe that Bandera has a lot more than just Football! What has happend?

Don't understand your comment, Bandera was very competitive in basketball and won district 25-3A baseball.

That is right Old and also their softball team is in the playoffs too. Plus their volleyball team did very well in the playoffs last fall too and won several playoff games.

The problem with Bandera Sports is that so few people actualy participate in the sports program's. By the time you play all of the sports each team is just diluted of good athletes.

The state championship team only had 23 actual players, the basketball team maybe had 11, soccer team 14, baseball team 14 and track team is almost non-existent. For having over 770 kids in school we just don't have many good athletes.

Next year should be interesting....

Bulldogfan.....your comments are probably correct, but it sure says volumes about those who did participate!

BanderaFan, you really don't see much of anyone on the board now a days (cept the hardcore 3A sports fans that love to still watch all the kids participate). I guess it just goes to show that football really is KING in Texas. All other sports take a back seat as to all the other sports fans. Not to worry though, everyone will be back as strong as ever, come Aug 03.

You might see your team coverage being quiet. But some of us have been reading about your SA area team leading in both batting and pitching. Stats aside... Your team has maybe four losses on the year? Not alot of talk, but attention has been your way for awhile.

The Baseball Team is very talented. They have the ability to win it all.

Matt Postert ( Defensive End and Receiver )
Cody Feilds ( Tight End and Defensive Halfback )
Robert Ickes ( All Everything )
Dustin Heep ( All State Running Back )
D.J. Reed ( Receiver )
John Paul Lico ( 2 Way Starter )
Chris Martinez ( Receiver )
Chad Thompson ( Running Back )
Josh Faglie ( The next big Linebacker )

These 9 guys played a huge part of the 23 kids on the State Championship Team.

The truly remarkable thing about the Seniors on the State Championship Team was that of the 20 Seniors on the team 19 have been together since they were in Kindergarten.

18 of the 20 made either All-District or All- State Academic Team, and all 20 are going to college with only 6 of them for athletics.

We in Bandera are glad that people outside our town are backing us up.

This was truly a team that all small towns would love to have.

They were true leaders in every sense of the word.

You can never say enough about good kids.
