That killer non dist schedule paid off . Congs to the coaches and kids for
hanging in there after a 0-5 start playing 5 teams ranked in top 25 in there Divisions
and also Lavernia in Dist who is ranked top 4 in D1. Gonzo is tested and is ready for
a good run in playoffs.

La Feria looked good early in district, but dropped two games to King (19-14) and Zapata (31-21)...to enter the playoffs with a 6-3 record.

They do have a good secondary, according to early season articles. La Feria only had one tough game in Mercedes before district started....so that hurt them once they went up against King and Zaps.

Gonzales should roll. La Feria's non-district schedule was, for the most part, pathetic save for 5A Mercedes who beat La Feria soundly. Also, Mercedes's only loss is to CC Calallen and that wasn't pretty either. Yes, I know, what does CC Calallen have to do with this game? Not much, but it just shows the level that La Feria really is at despite their record.
