I agree...Brownwood did this with 7 Sophs. brought up to play. Plus we lost our leading tackler out with a knee injury in the first half.

I would never have thought my Dawgs would be district champs with 19 brand new starters and over half of the team with freshmen and Sophomores. They won the last four ball games and are now co-champs with Henderson. (Kilgore beat Henderson tonight) Coach S has to be one of the best coaches, he continues to work his magic. The QB for the Dawgs broke his hand and a freshmen had to take over. The Dawgs will be a tough out in the playoffs. WHOA Nelly, the Dawgs will be the real deal next year. God Bless to all.

Carthage-El Campo should be a good 2nd round matchup.

El Campo sounds like they are pretty dang good this year, I don't know if the Dawgs can hang with them or not. I know they will play hard and coach S will have them ready, but our Q/B may have broke his throwing hand.
We have lost two running backs and moved the freshmen QB up to run the ball. Now he will have to QB for the Dawgs. He can flat out play, but that is a tall order for a freshmen to take his first start at the QB spot on varsity against a good team like the Rice Birds. We need to win next week before we can think about the second round. I am just so proud of the Dawgs, It is true, it is not the size of the Dawg in the fight, it is the size of the fight in the Dawg. God Bless.

El Campo had the injury bug last year. It was a rare down year to begin with, but then we literally lost our top 3 RB's(among several others) to injury.

Tough to win that way when you run the ball 90% of the time.

Good luck to yall. Hope to see yall in round 2.
