And it will be for the first time in a long while that that has
happened.

Most of you don't care one way or the other but I just
couldn't think of a better reason to use my 15,000 post
other than to point their accomplishment out.

Go Mustangs!

Congrats on the stellar posts and to the Mustangs on the stellar season. When it's been a looong time, there's much to celebrate. The last time y'all had a great collection of athletes that were so impressive was the year y'all beat Argyle in the playoffs and then lost to Snyder. I think Snyder then lost to Celina and Celina won the title(correct me if I'm wrong). What year was that....2006?

1997 last 10-0 team? Can't remember if any of Jackson's teams ever went undefeated.
Former mustang QB still the head coach at Lamesa?

Actually we beat Argyle and lost to Vernon at Aledo's Bearcat Stadium back in 2006. I
don't care to ever go back there. :dispntd:

Sweetwater has emerged on the D2 radar as a contender.

Some fans are weary of that but not this one. I think all Sweetwater fans are happy to be back
on the right side of .500 for the first time in five years.

Yep, started 13-0 and lost to Denison in the quarter-finals. Yes, David Ritchey (Tom Ritchey's son for those wondering)
is in his second year and the Golden Tornadoes are 1-18 in those two years. He had a winning record before he got
there.

Congrats Red on the milestone and Sweetwater's success so far this season!

Sweetwater is a household name in West Texas for sure. You guys were never gone. You have a wonderful team this year with as much talent as I have seen in a long time. I miss the old district from the last few years. Monahans has always respected Sweetwater (may not like them but respect them). LOL I have said this before but still mean it, "Go make our district proud in the playoffs".

Thanks again. There is definitely a huge contrast between this team and the teams of the last 4-5 years.

I didn't see a point in starting a thread for a lopsided win. So, here's the link to the Sweetwater highlight
video vs. Pecos from last Friday.

Hey Sweetwater Red. What was your opinion on the changes they have made to their Stadium over there in Pecos. I know they spent some money and I think it is a HUGE improvement.

Ha! As great a venue as Mustang Bowl is to watch HS football games, there is absolutely nothing to
block that North wind when it's blowing in December.

It's really nice. I'm always glad to see a school upgrade their facilities. It speaks well
of the community support behind the school and it's athletic programs.

Yeah, reminds me of Coach Jackson. He preferred playing on a Thursday over a

Thanks and same here. We have our coach and he has surrounded himself with a quality staff that includes two
Harrell brothers. They're expecting a deep run this year but it'll be a tough road with Perryton, Bridgeport,
Vernon and Celina looming.

I sure hope you're right, Red, with the Bulls in that list. BTW---congrats to the Mustangs for the perfect regular season. I said the coaching staff that Sweetwater put in place would restore the Mustangs to glory---and i still believe that---they have something special going on right now and I really am tickled to see it happening.

Thanks Bull. Right now the Mustangs biggest concern are the Perryton Rangers. For the fans it will be the 25 degree
temperatures that are expected at kickoff.
