Looks like Alaniz is a tough nut to crack also. Looking forward to game two. Jason Adams will probably pitch for Sinton. Expect this game to be much closer. Sorry, SintonFan, didn't see your post.

Great game pirates. First time seeing Alaniz pitch and he look tough to hit. he was mixing up his pitches with fastballs and breaking pitches and hitting spots around the strike zone. Lineup looks to be solid from 1-9. This team resembles the '88 and '89 state championship teams.

SintonFaninAustin, Corpus paper had a good piece on them after the Cuero game. Said Alaniz went the five innings throwing 57 pitches, 45 of which were strikes. Sounded like with his batting efforts, almost won the game by himself. That's pretty good in anyone's book. Great article on them this morning too. Says Alaniz pitched a four-hitter with 17 strikeouts.
