Absolutely no talk about this game for the district championship and that all important seeding position. I think it is in Henderson but I could be wrong. I'm taking CH. There losses have been to some pretty good teams. Thoughts and predictions???

There may be a few Henderson fans on here, but I've NEVER seen one from the Hill.

I'll take CH also. However, Henderson has had a better season than I would have expected. They are way better than the one Gilmer dominated in Longview last year, for sure.

The only one I've seen on here from Chapel Hill is "Chillfan", but I don't think he's been on here at all this year. I could be wrong, but...

I think Chapel Hill has played a tougher schedule than Henderson, and the CH offense is pretty good at scoring lots of points. Their defense is a little suspect, though. I don't know that much about either team this year. Henderson's only loss came to Atlanta in a close one, but I honestly think Atlanta is overrated. I'll go with Chapel Hill in this one, but with the game being in Henderson anything can happen.

Chapel Hill visits Henderson in the Red Zone Game of the Week

Four years ago they met for a state championship.* The Highway 64 rivalry adds another chapter Friday night, with a district championship on the line.

"It's a big matchup," said Henderson senior Dalton Goode.* "A lot of history remembering the state championship. It's going to be fun to watch."

"It's a high intensity game," said Chapel Hill senior Michael McGrath.**

Henderson and Chapel Hill have enjoyed proving people wrong in 2014. Competing in a district with Carthage and Kilgore, The Lions and Bulldogs, were considered the underdogs.

"We had a lot of backs turned against us," said Chapel Hill senior Michael Bledsoe.* "People didn't think we could be 3-0. They thought we were going to lose to Kilgore and lose to Palestine. They didn't think we could pull it out but we're showing people wrong each and every day."

"We came into this thing the underdogs," said Goode.* "And that just made us want to work harder and be on top. Just self motivation and wanted to get out there and be the best."

The Lions have roared to a six game winning streak. Their toughest challenge of the season may be slowing down the high powered Chapel Hill offense.

"We know they have a lot of dudes that can run on offense and a lot of speed," said Henderson senior Kyndall Johnson.* "We're confident we have the defense to stop the speed."

The quest for a state championship. A district championship would be a nice start.

I am the only henderson fan that I know of. I expect a great game and would be surprised at a blow out for either team.

I took Henderson in the Pickem deal. I was leaning toward Chapel Hill, but thought the game would a close one. I decided to take the home team since it was the big game of the year for both teams and the district title. Henderson has the better record, even though their schedule may have been less competitive. But you play who's on your schedule. Chapel Hill did beat a good Paris team, but maybe so would have Henderson. I think this game is a toss-up.

Notes Henderson hasn't won a District Championship since 2000.
Henderson beat Chapel Hill for State in 2010.
Current Henderson coach Castles coached at Chapel Hill before the current Chapel Hill coach.

I'll take Henderson over CH, the advantage being Henderson playing at home.

Just looking at the scores, Henderson appears to have the better of the two defenses.

Give me the Lions in a close one.

To be fair Chapel hill has seen better offense in non district.

I see. Well, nontheless, good luck to both programs. Maybe we'll meet up in the playoffs..

Henderson's schedule and results are more impressive than CH's. Henderson has beat better teams (Athens, Newton & Carthage) than CH has. With Kilgore being so banged up CH's best win is probably Paris. They gave up 41 points to Paris and then Paris lost their last 2 district games. Heck CH gave up 36 to a bad Palestine team. Not saying CH isn't good but I'll take Henderson at home.

Yep, I guess I underestimated those mighty Lions, too... They must have a heck of a defense to keep CH to 14 points. I knew Henderson would score their share of points, but I most definitely underestimated their defense.

Congrats to the Henderson Lions!
