Here is an updated look at prep's picks for our region after an unexpected change by the UIL
of their bracket format.

Lincoln 2-1 (Venus, Madison)
Madison 2-1 (Ferris, Lincoln)
Venus 2-1 (Lincoln, Godley)
Godley 1-2 (Roosevelt, Venus)
Roosevelt 0-3 (Godley, Ferris)

What Pigskin Predicts (based on overall predicted overall records)
Ferris 4-1
Lincoln 4-1
Godley 3-2
Madison 3-2

If Ferris and Lincoln are both 4-1 (which is most likely possible) then Ferris is your district champ by virtue of win over Lincoln - Pigskin has Lincoln #1 and Ferris #2
Godley could win their next two games and finish 3-2 (although I think Venus may have Godley's number considering they're on their 9th quarterback)
However, for Ferris and Lincoln both to finish 4-1, Madison would finish 2-4 and in a tie with Venus (if Venus loses to Godley and Lincoln). Venus would then be your fourth seed by virtue of a win over Madison.

Ferris will be district champ and Lincoln will be the second seed.
The Godley-Venus game will determine seeds three and four. Godley wins and they are the third seed and Venus is your fourth seed. A Venus win and Venus will be the third seed and Madison is the fourth seed by virtue of win over Godley, who misses the playoffs.

This could be turned around by a Madison win over Ferris or Lincoln but I don't see either happening. Madison lost to Venus by 20 and squeaked by a fourth string quarterback in Godley.

I'm glad you pointed this out. I've been trying to follow along in District 1 for obvious reasons and it seems
that, with the exception of Vernon and Dalhart, everyone is beating each other. I don't know what the
tie breakers are and I was suspecting that preps doesn't either.

Bushland beat Perryton 24-12 and lost to Iowa Park 20-38 (-6)
Perryton lost Bushland 24-12 and beat Iowa Park 41-34 (-5)
Iowa Park beat Bushland 38-20 and lost to Perryton 34-41 (+11)
Everyone has beaten Dalhart and/or lost to Vernon at this point.

Given the point differential it would seem that it should be IP with the
#2 seed, Perryton #3 and Bushland at #4. But, he has IP and
Perryton flipped.

We got Ferris before our full injury meltdown. Then we caught the fumblitis and that killed us again the first two Dallas Schools. It been a ruff year for Coach Dalton and Staff.

Well Godley wins Thursday 55-6 and Lone star reports Venus over Lincoln last night so next week's . Godley vs Venus game will really mean something.

This could be fun ... 6 team district and if Lincoln beats Madison and Godley beats Venus there will be five 3-2 teams. Even crazier is the fact that with a win, Venus is your district champ!!!
