Tatum started the season as one of the teams to beat in 4A-D2, but they have fallen on hard times since the first two games of the season. They remind me a little of the Gladewater team of '10. They placed so much emphasis on beating Gilmer, and when they didn't get it done, they kinda fell off dramatically. Tatum has the injury bug, and has been fighting it all season long. They get a couple of players back this week, but I don't think it'll be enough. Atlanta is solid, and should be runner-up in District 6. Tatum will likely end up as the third seed. I wouldn't be surprised if the game was close, though.

3 loses to top teams in division, 1 loss to a team above who is likely a district champ.

3 of the 4 are games that was one or two plays away from going the other way.

And Bob, be careful what you wish for. No way in hell Traylor wants Tatum in the first round after coming out of that cupcake district.

It wouldn't bother us a bit if we had to face Tatum a second time. Traylor, on the other hand, would want the easiest way possible, as would any other coach with any sense. How do you explain the dropoff since we played y'all? It was a dramatic dropoff. I have an objective view of Tatum, and can see the results from the outside. You have an inside look. Explain what happened.

Tatum showed heart when they played us. Against Gladewater? Not much fire at all. You really think Gladewater is better than us?

As far as our drop off, there's a few reasons. Injuries are a part of football, I'd never use them as an excuse. BUT that's part of the reason.

Other stuff I won't put on the inter webs.

Granted, it has been against Center and SH (comparable to everyone other than y'all in that district) but changing QBs and going back to Evans bread and butter has worked out well - 818 yards rushing - in those two games.

Tatum is 6-1 all-time against the Rabbits. For the most part all games have been exciting. Don't expect this week to be any different.

I wouldn't mind playing Gilmer in first round either. But, I'd rather wait till later on down the road and do it in front of 10,000 people.

Gladewater all of a sudden is better than Gilmer? You are entitled to your opinion, but most of the people who I've talked to who have seen both play, and know the history between the two, say Gilmer would beat them by a couple of TDs, maybe more. Tatum saw Gilmer's worst game, and Gladewater's best game. I can understand you thinking that. If that game happens, it'll be a good one. It's not the homer in me, but the betting side of me says that Gladewater will have no answer to Gilmer's offense, and Gilmer will get enough stops to put some distance between the two. Gilmer is the only team in our area that has consistently made Mack a nonfactor in our matchups, and the Buckeyes have improved exponentially since our debacle against your Eagles.

This coming from a town (Tatum) that passes out dentures paid for by Luminant (formerly TXU) at all home games to those who haven't been given their set yet? That's the only reason anybody in Tatum has teeth.

You know things are bad in Tatum when their recruiters can't even get players to leave Longview High..., or Elysian Fields, or Carthage, or even Beckville.
