Ok here it is! The day we both knew it would come down to for the District Championship!

Navarros offense has started to click and the Defense has played lights out this year recording a school record Four shutouts. Both district wins have been shutouts. They are loaded with many sophs and a Freshman who played some at QB and can throw along with leading the team in ints. Who takes this one? Hopefully #3 will be back who is another talented soph. Navarro does look loaded for years to come as the JV and Fr. teams are unbeaten! Game week Wimberley people let's have fun!

My vote for Region 4 game of the week also!

There will be no shutout in this game. I'm hearing the Navarro folk have already checked this one off as a W. That is good, very good. :stirpot:

The boys play better week by week, fun to watch them bring it together as a team. Texans can play some ball.

Huck's site has it 26-21 with a 66% chance of a Navarro win. Fair prediction -- Navarro has to be favored, but Wimberley has a good chance to pull an upset.

Like Ogg said, we have gotten better every week, and I think we could have hung 40+ on Hondo if we had wanted to open up our offense.

I'm sure we will to a certain degree cause that's what that crazy Slot-T is based on...pure trickery. Navarro still having trouble with the extra pts, just may be a factor once again.

Was going over some numbers for each offense. 8 games total... pretty even with the Texans being the balanced of the two.

Wimberley: yds passing/ 1556.... yds running/ 1261 = 2817 total yds
Navarro: 284 / 2729 = 3013 total yds

Wimberley has improved soooo much since week one. Our coaches no how to stop the slot-T as well as anybody with or without coach Smith here. Some of these coaches learned from the best. It's a matter of Wimberley scoring enough against a good defense that is pretty young though. I'm going with a game similar to 2012, down to the wire with the Texans pulling out the upset.

Sound like you know like Slot T. All offenses are built on deception, some through the air some on the ground. I think Navarro takes this one by a TD. Not cause they run Slot -T, but because I know what Wimberley had last season. Always a tough team, but still working out some kinks. Good luck to both teams.

Keep reading rb , I also said some of them learned from the best , ie. Dick Smith.

I know coach Smith's abilities well.

I give Wimberley a good chance the way the have improved but it will need to be their best game.
Everyone wants to win district but looking at the possible brackets it would be ok to be runner up.

Yeah, I was looking at the possible brackets this week too -- Other than a patch on a letter jacket, I really don't see any advantage to being W13 over R13. The other districts in the bracket seem like there's no difference between the 1-2-3 teams.

Here's my guess for R4D2:

W13 Navarro
F14 Really, really bad team

R16 Rio Hondo (?)
T15 Cuero

W14 Devine
F13 Hondo/Lytle loser

R15 Yoakum
T16 Port Isabel (?)

W15 Sinton
F16 Raymondville

R14 Crystal City
T13 Hondo/Lytle winner

W16 Orange Grove (?)
F15 Ingleside

R13 Wimberley
T14 Pearsall

D16 should be cleared up tonight when PI-OG play, but those are my best guesses.

D13 and 14 are pretty set. I'm assuming Sinton beats Ingleside next week.

No offense to Orange Grove/Ingleside/PI, but I'd rather play them than Cuero in the second round.

I do know that some JV players on the line were moved up. I think Navarro with all the youth on defense will be even better the next 2 years as well. The QB had his first start in a big game. Not bad for a freshman and he is one heck of a defensive player. Wimberley and the Officials had trouble with the Peanut draw again. You haave to admit the last 6 minutes Navarro did the Slot T proud. #7 the Soph LB had 129 yards rushing as well all in the second half. Navarro wa on the ropes in the first halfbut I think they just were more physical in the second half. You are right the next few years it looks like there may be a rivalry brewing. Good Luck and Rep the District in the playoffs Texans!

Orange Grove has locked the #1 seed in 16, and Rio Hondo locks #2. Port Isabel & Raymondville play for 3rd & 4th. Regardless of how D16 finishes, I'm betting D15 sweeps D16 right out in Round 1. The only team with a halfway decent shot is Orange Grove, but if they play Ingleside, even that is no "gimme".

Tarp, I seen Ykm against Cuero, and that collapse they had. Can't stop anyone. Friday proves my point. Jourdanton? I'll give D16 a chance in winning one game in rd 1. I do see 3 of four moving on from D15. Two, will play into week 3, Sinton and Cuero. They seem to have things figured out at the right time.

Well, if Yoakum finishes #2 seed, Port Isabel or Raymondville gets them (whoever wins the PI/Ray game)

If Yoakum finishes #3, they get Rio Hondo. Rio Hondo's defense is stout, but their offense is suspect.

Couresty of SintonFan_InAustin over on the 956Sports forum. Putting /quote because it's his post, not mine. But talk about a mess in D15!

Ingleside at Sinton game will determine the seeding for D15 as long as Cuero doesn't get upset by Jourdanton.

Sinton either gets the 1st seed with a win or the 4th seed with a Loss. So Sinton either plays the loser of Raymondville/Port Isabel game as the 1 seed or play Orange Grove as the 4th seed.

Yoakum has atleast 2nd seed lock up and can get 1 seed with a Cuero loss. Yoakum either plays the winner of Raymondville/Port Isabel or the loser if they end up with 1 seed.

Cuero can get 1st seed with a Sinton loss or 3rd seed with a Sinton win. Cuero either plays loser of Raymondville/Port Isabel as the 1 seed or play Rio Hondo as the 3rd seed.

Ingleside can get 3rd seed with a win over Sinton or 4th seed with a loss to Sinton. Ingleside either plays Rio Hondo as the 3rd seed or Orange Grove as the 4th seed.

Think that pretty much covers it.
