Little Johnny, you're making the other kids look bad. Stop making A's in math and science or your parents will receive a note from the school board and a $250 fine. In the words of Vince Lombari, "What in the hell is going on out here!"

I would never hire anyone that is a proponent of this.

This is stupid! However, there seems to be a developing trend that says competition is only okay as long as you consider your opponents feelings. Stupid!

Mercy rules are unfair to the second teamers who are put in at the end of the game. The mom said it was that kids first int and td. How dare anyone tell him not to score. Just stop the game.

Its crap, no team should have to lay down like this. Its how the develop into the friday night stars we love to watch. Get rid of the mercy rule and make it like other contact sports, if youre gettin your arse kicked so bad you cant take anymore then the coach can walk his pansy butt to the.center of the field and tap out and go home

Ive been coaching and administrating Youth Football for a Decade and I have learned 2 things:

1) Rules like this are really to protect the grown ups feelings not the kids. To kids a win is a win and a loss is a loss.

2) The only thing wrong with youth football is the grown ups.

That is very true. Football is a great game and for the most part so are kids at that age. Youth football can be a great experience or it can be a joke depending on character of the adults involved at all levels.
