. . . younger brother to Kris Boyd, received an offer from Texas. His first of likely several.

He's a great player, and we still have him for another year after this. I'm pretty sure he will get quite a few more offers. A lot of times kids will lean toward the team that recruited them first. Somebody's gonna get a real player in Demarco.

I would like to see Chase Tate get some offers, but his diminuitive stature will limit them. He has shown that he is a special player in the 4 years he's played varsity. For a guy with his stature he is very durable. I don't think he has missed a game yet. At least I can't recall him ever being injured enough to sit out. He's taken some big time hits, too. He's like a Timex watch, he takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'. He's lightning in a bottle. He is fast and as quick as anybody I've ever seen.

Good for Chase! At least he'll get a paid education. That's the most important part.

I personally don't know. I do believe this and I said it a month or so ago. I think that when he leaves, he will be the most decorated Buckeye ever. He is that good and he plays with such passion. Always looks like football is fun and effortless. It just seems easy to Demarco.

Any word on potential scholarship offers for Dakota Williamson, Nick Smith and Quinn Fluellen? All of them are outstanding high school players with potential for the next level.

It turns out that Texas has not really made an offer yet.

According to a tweet from his brother Kris and an ETSN.fm report Demarco received an offer from Florida State on Wednesday.

This is bizarre. I have heard a lot about this chain of events off the record. There may have been some "catfishing" going on at first.

I HOPE this is true that he HAS now received the Texas offer.

Is he a Senior? I know there's a Senior Showcase in Houston sometime in the spring before signing day...kind of a last chance to get an offer.

My goodness Gilmer is loaded with talent this year. Glad to see Tate get an offer, he's fun to watch. Btw, Van has a player committed to Northwestern as well.
