Curious why you say Gilmer? Just cause they been ranked all year? Was it their win over Missy, Daingerfield or Carthage? I say, you don't really know why you say it. They certainly have not played anyone.

Actually I played in 1963 for Chaffey High School in CA (a school with 3500 enrollment). I was a defensive tackle and noseguard.

As for Gilmer I agree they have not been tested yet. WOS, HJ, La Margue and Bellville (in this order) worry me more at this time.

Well my freshman year a couple of the guys on the C team had leather helmets no faceguard but I had a plastic helmet with one bar for a faceguard hence my crocked nose.

So what has Giddings got going for them this year? Is their defense questionable giving up 30 points per game? Their offense is getting it done averaging 35 points per game. If their defense gives up 30 points on average can they hold the Leps back? I expect a high scoring game but the Buffs will need to play their best defense to get by La Grange this year.

The Lep offense should be able to put up those kinds of numbers Leopardfan. I suspect the coaches will have a few things to say about the turnovers this week and make some adjustments and work on protecting the football drills. I noticed Kates is opening the playbook a little more each game. I expect we'll see more Friday. The Giddings posters are pretty quite on the Downlow this year. I miss the spirited banter. Maybe I should post real Pudlike and draw them out. :D

No matter how old the riverly is , when one team is better than the other the outcome is pretty predictable. La Grange will roll in this one. Gilmer and La Grange fans are already planning their trip to Dallas in December looks like as their confidence grows each week. So will it be Gilmer and Doc's Hot Links Sausage or La Grange and Praus BBQ that gets to hang a title picture on their wall this year!!!

This will be a very interesting region to follow. Should be a lot of fun for teams and towns who ever they will be. I like LG's chances though I believe some of our southeast Texas boys won't go easily. A LG vs LaMarque or WOS in NRG Stadium would be one heck of a battle. Let's get there first.

I predicted a big game for Dobbins last week (320 yards rushing) , I look for more of the same this week against Giddings. Would love to see another shutout of Giddings however I do not see that happening this year , Leps roll them like Bama boys did last week to them aggies. Leps by a lot.

I drove by Louise football practice yesterday on Hwy 59, I could barely see some of the players on the practice field with the weeds about 2' tall. Then drove by LG practice, looks like they were having a picnic out there. Lol.

No tricks just intense football with solid execution gets the job done tomorrow night. Giddings has an offense that can break for a score on any play so our defense will need to perform like they have all season. Our offense must limit penalties and protect the football better than last week's performance in Caldwell. The Buffaloes will want the win badly to make their season. Leps will jump out to an early lead and frustrate them the rest of the way.

Actually this season in most of our games we jumped out early to take a two or three td lead. That is how our offense rolls. Go Leps!

Giddings played well and deserve props for keeping it close and testing our defensive secondary. Another classic rivalry game between these two schools. Plenty of excitement for both sides with Giddings' #25 Ratley and Hutchison both returning KOs and incredible performance by Dobbins.

I agree our defense had trouble containing the pass. Credit your Qb and receivers though as they made several difficult receptions and kept the pressure on us all night. I have not watched Giddings in other games this year but I would wager last night was their best effort. The 96 yard KO return by Hutchison followed by the interception and subsequent score really did seal the deal in this game. Hickey was all they said he would be with his exceptional speed agility and power. Hutchison and Dobbins amazed everyone with how they stepped up and took control of the game as our defense struggled with the Buffs offensive blitz. Kudos all around for a great game guys.

Game was exciting till the forth. La grange out lasted us because they truly are better than us. Giddings can get on a roll from here and things will be fun to watch. La grange should have a fun run in front of them, good luck.
