AUSTIN — On its loaded future football schedules, Texas has replaced one traditional powerhouse with another.
The Longhorns announced Thursday they’ll play LSU at home in 2019 and in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in 2020. Those games replace two matchups against Notre Dame that were canceled earlier this year. UT also announced it will play three games against South Florida in 2019, 2022 (in Tampa, Florida) and in 2024.
The addition of the Tigers guarantees UT will play at least one high-profile nonconference game per year for much of the next decade. The Longhorns play Notre Dame in 2015 and 2016, USC in 2017 and 2018, LSU in 2019 and 2020, Arkansas in 2021, Ohio State in 2022 and 2023, and Michigan in 2024 and 2027.
