One of the big numbers that really stuck out this past weekend was for running backs. Three running backs went past the 200-yard mark.
There is one unbeaten team in southern Brazoria County. The Columbia Roughnecks (1-0, 6-0) continued to have their way. With a convincing 58-13 win over Brazosport to open District 12-4A Division I play, it was a run game that accumulated 369 rushing yards.
Junior Dakarius Bell ran the ball for 201 yards on 24 carries and three touchdowns. With that total, Bell went past the 1,000-yard mark. He has 1,022 yards and still has four regular season games remaining.
The Roughnecks finished with 441 total yards for the game.
