Kilgore for sure. Any team that can play defense like Kilgore has a shot at this level on any given night.

Athens who is 3-3. Loses are to 5A Hallsville, a good Henderson team who is probably a top 15 team and #8 ranked Van. Athens also has a win over Robinson who I believe was ranked at the time. They have a powerful run game behind a fullback that is a beast. FB had 42 carries against Van. He had more carries than Van had offensive plays. If they don't make mistakes (and they didn't against Van-no turnovers & I think only 1 offensive penalty) it is difficult to get that offense off the field. That will keep them in most games, even against better teams.

I can assure you that when the Class 4A D1 playoffs start Kilgore will be one of the top defensive teams at that level. They are every year. That is there identity.

If a team is .500 or below in the playoffs, no match for Stephenville whatsoever. If they are now .500 or below, that's a different question. I would say Kilgore is the only one at this point that Stephenville could match up against in the playoffs.

I would say Kilgore is the only one at this point that Stephenville could match up against in the playoffs. It will take a team with a top notch defense and a ball control offense that eats clock to beat Stephenville... not sure anyone in R1 can do it. That being said I really do look forward to the S'ville/Big Spring game at Big Spring (and to eating ribs at Al's before hand!).

Lol. Flour Bluff was pedal-to-the-metal against us for 4 qtrs and kicking on-sides the whole 2nd half to beat us by 1. I seriously doubt they were doing that in a 34-0 win and a 28-7 win over the other Christi's.
