I'll take Baylor and Briles, thank you very much. Big game at home in the new stadium for Baylor with all the marbles for the Big 12 outright lead and national audience watching. Baylor and TCU have much riding on this game.

I'm interested to see how Patterson's TCU defense handles Baylor's offense. The TCU offense this season is also dynamic, so the opposite holds true for the Baylor D.

TCU dbacks have no problem running with the Baylor speedy recievers. Petty will have to throw in the open holes today.

regaleagle
10-11-2014, 02:50 PM
Baylor goes for it on 4th and TCU D holds. Now TCU gets excellent field postion close to midfield. The marbles are already being rolled, haha.

regaleagle
10-11-2014, 02:53 PM
TCU starting on their own 33, not near midfield.

regaleagle
10-11-2014, 02:54 PM
TCU throws long on 3rd and 2? Got lucky with a penalty against Baylor Dback.

I'm partial to both coaches and both teams here....so I'm torn in this game. I guess I'm a Baylor fan today....they have the higher ranking so far to do well nationally. I could be wrong about TCU though....they may be better than most have given credit for....we'll see.

Bingo....great throw and catch by TCU on 3rd and 13 for a long TD score. Great play with the Baylor defenders right there. First time Baylor has trailed all year.

regaleagle
10-11-2014, 03:04 PM
Petty looks real smooth throwing it and with his moves leading up to the throws.

regaleagle
10-11-2014, 03:12 PM
TCU scores quickly again on another long pass on 1st and then a couple of runs. Baylor against the wall here with TCU. 14-0 already.

regaleagle
10-11-2014, 03:16 PM
Geez, Boykin goes long on 1st again and nearly completed another big pass play. The receiver was actually open but the qb lead him a tad too much.

regaleagle
10-11-2014, 03:25 PM
Now Petty hits Goodley for a 66 yd. long TD pass. Baylor is on the board. 14-7 in an exciting 1st quarter.

regaleagle
10-11-2014, 03:30 PM
Now Baylor forces TCU into a 3 and out. Not a good punt for TCU....27 yds. Baylor will start now on their own 38.

regaleagle
10-11-2014, 04:14 PM
TCU is playing the Baylor recievers very tight and Petty is having a hard time finding an open receiver, so now it is beginning to affect his throws. Baylor will have to establish some threat of rushing for gains or the Baylor offense will be going 3 and out more often than they are used to.

regaleagle
10-11-2014, 04:19 PM
Boykin for TCU more of a threat rushing than Petty for Baylor may be a big advantage in this defensive/offensive battle.

regaleagle
10-11-2014, 04:26 PM
Great throw by Petty here to tie the game 24-24. This is a fan's game to watch....lots of action with very good skilled speedy athletes on both sides of the ball for both teams.

regaleagle
10-11-2014, 04:28 PM
BJ Catalon takes the ensuing kickoff back coast to coast 94 yds thru a seam and he's gone untouched for the score.....that quick. 31-24 TCU. Don't get up and go to the fridge or you'll miss something.

10-11-2014, 04:39 PM
TCU punts with only 8 secs left in the half, and the snapper sails it over the punter's head. Baylor recovers with 1 second left and kicks the field goal.

TCU 31
Baylor 27

TCU is playing better than Baylor on the field in almost every category. Both teams can be explosive, but TCU looks better defensively. Offensively, both are fairly equal, but since TCU has a slightly better defense it makes Baylor's offense less effective. TCU has had some "lucky" things happen for them today, but they continue to pressure the Baylor D and make plays happen. This game is still wide open for any team to win.

TCU 44
Baylor 30

2:15 left in 3rd

TCU Dominating now ...let'em run up the middle, 3 scores up..the frogs will just drive on them and score again!!

regaleagle
10-11-2014, 06:45 PM
It's 58-58 and still 4:30 left......what else is there to say. It takes no time at all for either team to score.

regaleagle
10-11-2014, 06:48 PM
under 2 min now with TCU driving. They need 15 for field goal position. Only a stop or a turnover will save Baylor.

regaleagle
10-11-2014, 06:50 PM
Baylor holds and will force a TCU punt now. Baylor had too many players on the field and will get a penalty here. It was 4th and 8.

regaleagle
10-11-2014, 06:51 PM
Substitution infraction. Still 4th and 3. Will TCU still punt? Their going for it. Here it is....can Baylor make the stop? TCU takes a timeout. Better think it over, Patterson.

regaleagle
10-11-2014, 06:53 PM
Okay, they are punting now. About 1:17 left...TCU calls another timeout. Baylor has 3 left.

regaleagle
10-11-2014, 06:54 PM
Now Patterson says let's go for it. Boykin lofts one at the sideline and the Dback for Baylor makes the knockaway. Baylor takes over on own 45 with the game tied.

regaleagle
10-11-2014, 06:56 PM
Baylor's kicker has not been that good. Now Petty misses a wide open receiver. Now the receiver Coleman misses a pass. 3 and 10 with no long kicker.

regaleagle
10-11-2014, 06:57 PM
Pass interference by the TCU dback. If he doesn't interfere it is a catch. 10 yd penalty in college.

regaleagle
10-11-2014, 06:58 PM
Baylor calls timeout on the TCU 22 now. It will be 3rd and 4.

regaleagle
10-11-2014, 06:59 PM
It will be a 39 yd kick right now. They need more yards. They run it for a first down to the 13.

regaleagle
10-11-2014, 07:01 PM
19 secs. left. Baylor runs it to the middle of the field and calls timeout. Last play coming up for the field goal.

regaleagle
10-11-2014, 07:04 PM
The kicker for Baylor is a redshirt fresh from Houston that was 1 for 6 coming into today. He has made all 3 short ones today. If he hits it, he's BMOC. Here it is. Down the middle....it's good and Baylor wins!!! 24 unanswered come from behind points and they are going crazy in Wacko....err I mean Waco, haha. Congrats to the Baylor Bears and Coach Briles for a big win today.

They have played this game 110 times. The final score is a record for this matchup:

Baylor 61
TCU 58

What a game!!!

This was a great game. Too bad the final winner was determined by the officials near the end. They didn't call pass interference on Baylor but on a similar play they called it on TCU and Baylor took advantage to win.

TCU/Baylor series is now 52-51-7 in Baylor's favor. This was the first time both teams were ranked when they played. Glad my Bears pulled it off.

Patterson had elephant coconuts and a pea brain not to have punted on 4th down....game might have ended up the same way, but at least there would have been more chances for the Baylor offense to make a mistake, or the Frog defense to make a stop in the time remaining. Hindsight is always 20-20, but I just didn't agree with Patterson's call on this one.

This. Tcu got the very short end of that exchange.

Having said that, saggy is right that it should have never come to that. I was yelling at the tv as early as late 3rd that they were not running the ball enough. They had several series where they ran almost no time on the clock. Tcu would have won the game if their last 4 series they ran right into the LOS and fell down three times and punt. Baylor simply wouldn't had enough time left in the clock. Very poor game management by Patterson. And I'm a hugh Patterson fan.

TCU got robbed by the officials the last possessions. But it never should've come to that.

An amazing game, it was great to be there. TCU is choke city this week. I almost left when they were down 21 in the fourth to go and tailgate my sorrows away, but good teams find a way to win. TCU played their best game of the year. I really don't think they're as good as Baylor, but I also don't think Baylor has any shot if they make the playoff. I hope I'm wrong but they still have a tough schedule ahead. We'll see!

TCU played their best game so far for 3 quarters. The 4th quarter was really weird. It is very a-typical for a Gary Patterson team to start to leak that bad. I also think GP did a very poor job of managing the end of that game.

go back and look at the play with 27 seconds left. Time never came off the clock. Big 12 officiating at its finest. Don't worry, Baylor will lose a game or two. there is no way they run the tble.

Before today there were only two teams I considered a threat to BU's season. They were West Virginia and Oklahoma. Oklahoma is definitely who I'm more worried about. I was worried about the WVU this weekend, but with kick-off at 11 a.m. the atmosphere won't be near what it would've been in Morgantown had it been a primetime game. Oklahoma State just came off of a true escape from one of the worst teams in the country in Kansas, so I'm marking them off. Revenge for the Bears this year.

I like Briles in this one.
