Which one is the better team at this point?

I haven't see La Grange play but it would be a good battle of the La Cats! I've got kinfolk from there so the family would be at odds.

I haven't seen La Grange but I have La Marque.

The Cougars are big and fast. Passing game is ok but their bread is buttered with the run game. Defensively they swarm to the ball well. #52 is a BEAST

Pass Defense is a weakness

ST are better than most teams I have seen.

LG runs the ball 3 out of 4 plays. They have speed to the outside and power up the middle. They have a 200lb 6'3" WR who is also a CB on defense and our kicker.( see Dawgfan's pics here: http://i1197.photobucket.com/albums/aa434/thom6481/LGcatch-1L.jpg) #22 Dobbins (a sophomore 5'8" 185 4.3 vertical jump 48") and Hutchison #5 (senior 5;10" 180 4.4) share the honors running the ball and Dobbins is also playing Qb on half the snaps and is a wr as well. To see highlites of #22 Dobbins from last year as a freshman go here courtesy of Ville D: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/3378902/highlights/121911375). Our defense is very good against both the run and pass. Dobbins, Rigden, Hutchison and Neiser have been outstanding in the secondary. With the speed in the secondary it is very difficult for a runner to break the long gainer. I have seen La Margue in some video and they impress me as being very big and physical with great speed. Any game between these two teams would be well worth the price of admission.

So maybe a Cougar poster will tell us about the talent on La Marque's team.

La Marque looks pretty salty. #24 has good speed and moves. Good O line and front 4 on defense really jam things up the middle. Maybe we will get to meet up if the stars are aligned just right.

I seen la marque play Freeport brazosport couple weeks ago they r fast and the o line is big but short in height they do sumwat play dirty bcs sum personal fouls in that game they r a good team however Hutchison and dobbins the backs for LG r more faster than wat I seen in that game I think LG beats La Marque if they played by 14

Almost would say I'd prefer WOS to be #2 in District 9 behind Hardin-Jefferson so we get to play LaMarque rather than LaGrange first IF we even pull it together to beat Orangefield next week. But I'm not gonna say that.

La Grange is the best looking of the three Las this year so far but WOS and La Marque both know what it's like with a target on their back as well as always being in an always tough Region III going back to 1986 when we both made our first State Finals in 4A and 5A respectively ...and NOT being the target tends to be better. Good luck. ;p

In 1986 WOS (5-2 currently) won State after starting the season 5-2... La Marque lost by the way. (we won't talk about the 1990's).. just saying

In conclusion, I DEFINITELY think La Grange comes out as winner of the Region... :evillol:

I see what you did there WOS. We'll all just have to play the games and hope for the best. Right now as I see it there are four teams that could get out of R3: LG WOS LaMarque and HJ. Orangefield, Bellville, Giddings, Sweeney and Wharton could surprise but right now these 4 are playing the best football. It is going to be an intense playoff season in R3. I am very interested in the upcoming WOS-Orangefield game. This will tell us much about how competitive these two teams are.
