Needville coming off two straight wins and easily could have beaten Boling. Ricebirds are coming off a bye after beating St. Pius two weeks ago

Glad to see Needville with a couple W's. For a program with a new coach, hopefully they can turn things around. Wish coach V could have been the man to do it...

Another big test for EC. If the Birds are to beat the always tough Jays they will have to bring their A game, their best defense and a very good game plan. Thankfully this one will be played in the friendly confines of Ricebird stadium.

Yours truly, Pudbump ... er speedlugger.

This should be a great test for the Jays after 2 wins in a row. Time to see if they are for real.

The Jays are playing much better. Don't get me wrong , they are probably 5 to 6 touchdown underdogs. But this is a good test to see how much they have improved from that week 2 fiasco. I do not expect them to win. I think they will compete.

LOL, they played 2 of the worst teams in the state.... Let's not act like they've done anything worth mentioning.... The jays are not 'for real'.... This isn't a test for them and certainly isn't for EC either. This would be a good test for Needville if they played EC's JV....

EC by as many as they want, probably 50 something to 7 maybe if they're feeling generous

Nobody is saying the Jays are ready to contend for anything. This is a chance to see how much improvement they have made. Regardless of who the wins are against it is nice to get a couple. Good luck to you guys also. Columbia looks really good this year. I saw them against Sweeny. That is not the same defense as last year. Very impressive.

Da 'Birds by 40. EC starters don't play most of the second half. Needville wouldn't make the playoffs in most 3A districts. Sorry, I call it like i see it.

Jays were very bad against a very good team. Only gets worse next week against Columbia.
