Leps host 1-5 Smithville Friday night. The Leps should get an opportunity to play the bench in this one. Main thing is to stay healthy not run up the score. Smithville views this game as their big rivilry match and have nothing to lose so the Leps need to continue to focus and play one game at a time. Leps by 35.

Coach Kates would not let the score run up that much. If the Leps get up by 5 tds the bench will play it out. That is why our highest score was 42 points in three games. Most of the points against occurred in the 4th with the bench in. Depth is more important than humiliating 17 year old kids and their coaches with 60+ points. On the other hand if it is Giddings.....:D

Will not be much of a game but one good thing you dont have to play them at their field.

How is Dobbins doing this year? My dad tells me he has been lighting it up. Watched him play against Carthage last year and remember watching his dad back in 2000. He reminds me of our #24.

I think there is a job opening for his mom in Stephenville and it pays very well. Could you imagine Dobbins and Williams on the same team? Crazy. :speech:

Dobbins is even better this year as a sophomore than last year as a freshman. The Hudl highlites are from last year. He is 3" taller and 20 lbs heavier this year and just as fast. So far with Hutchison and Dobbins to worry about no defense has been able to stop the Leps offense.

If I were Coach Kates I'd pull Dobbins, Hutchison and Rigden out after the 1st quarter. Smithville has a reputation for dirty play and why take a chance on a injury. Our backups are more than capable of doing the job. Winning by 50 points doesn't improve our chances for a deep run in the playoffs. Jump out to an early lead retire the fast horses and ride to victory.

Off to the game. I want a good clean win for the Leps with no injuries in the game.

Leps played bench entire 2nd half. Smithville was just in way over their head being too small and lacking much speed. Big night for Dobbins in first half. Some good play by the reserves tonight. They're getting a lot of playing time lately. On to Caldwell next Friday.
