Looks good to me Matthew. But after this week, I have a feeling there could be some real shaking up of this poll.

#1 Burnet vs #15 Marlin
#3 Bellville vs #5 Rice Consolidated
#6 Everman vs #18 Kennedale

So many division 2 schools ahead of Gatesville. Are you rating based on how far teams will go in the playoff's, or do you think the Division 2 schools could beat the division 1 schools like Gatesville?

Liberty hasn't beat BH in at least 5 years. Better get BH in that top 25 so when BH Upsets Liberty it won't look so bad. Did I say Upset LOL would you call BH beating Liberty an upset. Ok I will quit razzing ya this is as good a poll as any. :D

Even with two losses, I would put Sweetwater in the top 25 teams in the state. Hard fought loss to Greenwood (#2 team), and a loss to 4A undefeated Andrews. Decatur seems a bit low too.

I'm sure this has been asked before but how do they calculate these polls? I don't really understand I mean just from looking at there record this season so far a team that is 1-2 is higher then a team that is 4-0...What do they base this upon?

My poll is a little of everything..Marlin is 1-2 and ahead of 4-0 teams because Marlin would likely beat those teams...Marlin has lost to 2 really good 4A schools by a total of 6 points I think and they are without their running back and top DB...Marlin could end up being 1-4 and still ranked...becuase they still have to play Burnet and Ennis

Lose to #2, Midland Greenwood, and a top 10 4a, Andrews, (see collier-sharp) and get knocked out of the top 25? Seems a little harsh to me.

I don't really understand I mean just from looking at there record this season so far a team that is 1-2 is higher then a team that is 4-0...What do they base this upon?I know in the Dallas paper the poll is selected by the sports writers, 10 of them i think and you get 10 points for each 1 place vote and 8 points for each second place vote and so on. When they talley up the point the one with the most wins and then down from there. But i guess it is all based on what they read from each other??? Because you know they can't be watching all these teams play.

Matthew, I know you have picked Kenedale over Everman this week. What is you rational for placing Kenedale @ #18 and Everman @ #6. Or is your prediction soley a rival outcome with Everman still being the better team? Just thought I would ask....

You know, RBarker, I dont think that the poll is based on past performances.

I dont see how BH beating Liberty in the past is any barometer of how it will be this year. And as far as you being behind Liberty in the Rankings, well maybe you should figure out why you lost to Anahuac, before you start yapping about not being in the top 25.

Kirbyville should be at least be up there with Diboll. This poll is good but I feel Kirbyville at 4-0 should be included. :D
