Tatum ran out of gas in the 3rd quarter and the Chill Hill looked like they could play one more quarter full speed. The flags were flying all night long on both teams, its as if the refs could not agree on anything. Tatum let me down big time, I don't know if CH was better than advertised or Tatum is not as good as I thought they were. What I do know if the Tatum Eagles play like that against Atlanta or Gladewater, there will be two more losses coming up. I did not think anyone but Gilmer could score on this defense, but CH scored and often. I will not be guilty of letting my mouth overload what the team can do anymore this year. Gilmer is by far the best East Texas has to offer this year in 4A and I hope they can keep it rolling. Coach Evans commented on an interview after the game with Gilmer, that he thought it was the best Gilmer team he has seen. My Dawgs get them tonight and I hope they can play a good game against the Buckeyes. Let me again eat my crow on my comment made two days ago about Tatum would be in the back field on Grahm all night long. I have changed my thought pattern.

The Eagles will be fine. Too much talent and a very good coach to go with it. I would take Tatum over GW or Atlanta at this point as far as potential goes. They just needed the seasoning like the Gilmer game and the one with CH last night. I still expect them to be district champs and challenge Gilmer again in the playoffs.
